Stanty hit the bar with a header.

I went but we did not actually play in Maidstone. The game was held at Dartford FC.

Yes, on the final day, beating Rochdale while Blackpool lost at Lincoln.

Stags 2 v Rochdale 1 Stringfellow and Stanty.
Think Blackpool lost 2 nil. I remember we finished before the Blackpool game because the Blackpool fans invaded the pitch at Sincil Bank when it was going belly up for them.

I remember we all went on the pitch at Field Mill to celebrate but all we could do was stand around for a bit listening to our Walkmans waiting for the final score to come through & when it did we went mad.

For Heavens sake let's stay on topic with this one. It's drifted to some promotion that happened nearly 30 years ago now.
Why not start a thread called All Our Yesterdays.
Think the demise and dissolution of a team that beat us to promotion last season is more important.

Soz mum. Didn’t realise a bit of Mansfield Town nostalgia on a Mansfield Town forum undermined the plight of Bury.
I should have mentioned the crowd that day against Rochdale was sub 6,000 for a promotion decider, perhaps you could have a little dig about the Mansfield public that way and feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

Loved that promotion and final day. I was 16 and all was great. Wish Stant was still leading the line today, we would definitely go up. Holland was amazing that season too.

If the EFL have given Bury until the 23rd to provide the necessary information does this mean their game on the 20th will also be postponed. What a right mess the EFL is creating by dithering. Would they have been as lenient if it was one of the newer members of the league like Crawley or Fleetwood rather than an old established club and FA cup winner

You just know if it'd been us we'd have been out on the street quicker than you could say 'EFL Trophy'.

To right, we would have been gone last season. They cheated, end of.

I find it hard to believe we’d have been treated any differently because “were Mansfield”

Proof that "promotion or bust" can backfire to just 'bust'

They supposedly have a buyer wanting to take over.
There is half a million pounds that could be paid to them if they get to stay in the league.
With only 10 days left I can't see anything changing.

Statement from Bury FC Staff
We can confirm that today we have received an offer for the sale of Bury Football Club, one that we all at the Club believe is a very good offer. This offer has been conveyed to Steve Dale and we are still waiting to hear from him.
This offer is the only lifeline for the future of the Club and we implore Steve Dale to accept it, as it has the full backing of all of the senior staff at Bury FC.
