They're one of those teams you can't find much to hold a grudge against them with.

Ellison, great lower league player. Fantastic battler and hard as nails.
Proper old school. Love him.

Ellison would have been a legend if he'd played for The Stags.

Now Cook, but both in their prime I'd go for Ellison every time.

Ellison is one of those player you hate, unless he's on your side.

I like Ellison. He’s a wind up merchant who always has a good laugh with our fans at FM. He would have been great for us.

I recall a certain Stags home fixture v Oxford some years back played in awful strong winds. Stags defended like heroes against the wind and went in at halftime drawing. Everybody was looking forward to the second half with Stags having the wind advantage however a certain referee abandoned the game before a ball could be kicked in the 2nd half when it appeared the wind had actually slightly dropped! The referee was one Howard Webb. Does anyone else recall it ?

Oh and I also recall Oxford players urging having some say in the matter too.
.
Hopefully we can overcome any windy conditions and I’m going for a 2 0 win to the Stags.

I remember the Oxford game. 5he closer it got to half time the longer Oxford would take taking a free kick, goalkick or corner. Just waiting for the ball to start rolling so they could complain about the wind. They failed to capitalise on the wind in their favour and knew they would be heavily under the cosh 2nd half.

Hopefully we adapt to the conditions better than we did against Stevenage.

There just isn't the same buzz (for me at least) as we've had the last two season. Pre season was ok but we leant very little about how we'll play or setup and last weeks first half showed how vulnerable we are when we dont get effort and tactics right.
Let's take it to them. Own our home games and attack to win and win well.
I’m with Jamie on this one, definitely feel underwhelmed for the start of the season. Or is it a case of reality after the hype of Steve Evans and early football if Flitcroft?
Can’t be there today due to my own wedding but will be glued to Stagsnet so keep the updates coming. And as always 2 - 0 to the Stags.

The weather makes me think 'banana skin' but I think we will just manage.
I don't feel underwhelmed, we have better overall balance and more firepower than last season in my opinion, I did predict a slow start but I think we will be up and around the promotion spots.

He he, you make it sound like a tedious chore..just lie back and think of England...or Mansfield if we win.
