Deadline Day

Postby Gruff » Thu Aug 08, 2019 7:33 am

So, if decent offers came in today for Pearce, Benning, Mellis, CJ and Rose, what are your thoughts? Surely, everybody has a price?

Still could impact CJ if there is a Championship club interested I guess.

Yep I appreciate that, but should some Lg1 & Lg2 clubs lose players today, they will start looking for replacements. The odd championship club may well want some "cover" for last minute deals.

Just a scenario for debate :)

I guess this was one of the reasons Dempster went out to Portugal yesterday to meet with the Radfords, to get an update on transfers and any dealings etc

I can only imagine CJ would be the player who would attract the kind of interest that might tempt JR, but my guess is we will not sell any player now until January at least.

The Radfords want promotion not more money

It's a tough one as if someone came in for CJ at £750K (realistic or not) you've got one side of the coin where no-one would begrudge JR taking some money back, but on the flip side it would give the completely wrong message to the fanbase also.

Delicate one either way.

Kane Hemmings has signed a 3 year contract at Dundee. He must have a good agent.

Don't understand the criticism of Hemmings. He's got a good goalscoring record, especially in Scotland.

He scored a decent amount of goals for us too.

Agreed. He has decent link up play too. Yes he missed a few sitters, but what player at our level doesn't?!

Didn't Kane Hemmings cost County £150,000-£200,000 and around £4,500 per week in wages?

I bet countys new spreadsheet geeks have the data that shows Hemmings needs 55 chances to get each goal hence why they have let him go!

I think their spreadsheets arn't currently working correctly as Al hasn't paid the office electric bill. If they were, Ardley would be sweating a bit.

I liked Hemmings, better footballer than Danny Rose in my opinion.

Incredibly true. But Rose does have the work ethic of a thousand Tyler Walkers so I could be so very wrong on this one.
