That’s not a red card in a million years, Newport player deserves punishment for that play acting.

Newport get away with it yet again. They really are wind up merchants, horrible fans, horrible club.

Martin,
Can you confirm time of first goal 6th or 7th minute

Looks a bit soft to me compared to other fouls the ref let go but Mellis gave the ref a decision to make which he did.

I bet you he got sent off because of the reaction, the ref/Lino thought he stamped him which he clearly did not.
It was stupid but he didn’t actually hurt him.

Just read Martin brief match report and the officials indeed thought it was a stamp, incorrect decision for me.

He was an idiot but he was sent off on the advice of the linesman for stamping. He clearly did not stamp on the player and so the original decision was wrong.
So do we appeal in the hope that we don't have to wear the right decision for the wrong reason?

I don't think we'd win an appeal against the red, then it's 4 games.
Would his second game ban be the Caribou cup?

the ban is only increased if the appeal is considered frivolous, which would clearly not be the case (in my opinion).

Thanks Martin, I looked at the stadium clock when they scored and it said 5mins 56 seconds, but on all other websites it says 7th minute.

Yeah, but you're a sensible chap Martin, so you'd be the last person to be sat on an EFL panel.

We probably wouldn't win an appeal. Newport probably would what with the Welsh FA.
I'm certain that, as of last season, all suspensions are competition specific. So Mellis can play in the cup next Tuesday.

It looked to me that Mr Mellis deliberately dropped onto his back even if it was a lack lustre pathetic effort. If so, he should have been sent off so why all of the uproar?.
Yes the officials got the sequence of events wrong but that doesn't detract that it was a red card. We shouldn't be blaming the ref or the Newport player, we should accept that Jacob was a silly boy and got caught. It reminds me of the times when my mum clipped my ear for things I hadn't done. She justified it by saying that I had got away with other things I hadn't been caught for and she was right, so no drama.

If a Newport player were red carded the Welsh FA's punishment would probably be to buy him a new car and recommend his name for the new years honours list

Hopefully I’m watching the same highlights... that’s never a red. A bit stupid admittedly, but hardly anything in at all for a straight red.

Ref didn't even see it. Lino gave it.
Also the 10 minute highlights were up on ifollow last night... they've somehow made them worse and don't even have comms on them anymore.
