Just a bit, his signing has been awful. If still fit I feel he'd contribute quite well, but that leaves us with 3 first team strikers and we look like we're gonna be playing with two which isn't great for cover.

This was a problem last season. A few injured forwards and we won’t get promoted.

Looking like he’ll have had over 12 months out then once he’s back. Personally think it will be very difficult for him to come back and play a significant part in a season at league level again, feels like he’s pretty much finished but we’ll have to see.
Frustrating for everyone involved as he will be on good wages and we paid a fee for him?

my thoughts too, ended up relying on walker too much and even his fantastic season wasn't enough to get us promoted. doesn't sound like any more incomings soon either

Shame we couldn’t have raspberried him off this summer, he’s a complete waste of money.
Though it would be hard to get someone in worse than jimmy Spencer but somehow we managed it

What a load of money Evans and DF have wasted on the likes of David Mirfin, Zander Diamond, Craig Davies etc. Did we carry out proper medicals?

Apparently it’s back on grass around Christmas so god knows how long until he’d be in any condition to play competitive football. Be surprised to see him in a Stags shirt again to be honest

Next time a new kit comes out.

He didnt have a medical. Df's Recruitment upfront was shocking, yes I know walker had a good season but he was only on loan

it was still a good signing (walker), whether he was on loan is irrelevant

He's not a worse footballer than Jimmy Spencer though is he, no one can account for or be blamed for injuries or how they will be when they come back, it's part and parcel of the game! I remember Matty Blair who was out for an eternity and came back stronger... unfortunately for someone else!
I feel sympathy for him, he's obviously a talented player and sure he's as down as anyone about being out.

It's just another example of Mr Flitcroft's incompetence if he didn't have a medical.

How can a football club get insurance on a player without a medical? If that is the case, then that stands with the CEO and COO not the manager. It seems very odd that a player signed in June did not have a medical. You hear stories about very last minute transfers in the January window but this claim does not make any sense at all.
So either it is untrue or we have a serious issue in the oversight of transfers from those running the club.

I’m highly sceptical he didn’t have a medical, and even if so is the blame really on Flitcroft? The club should make sure.

Well done Flitcroft, signed his mate and we're left with a player that's never gonna be fit. Worse than any Evans signing when you take what we paid for him,

Maybe broker a deal mutually to get rid of him or retire from football he will never play for us in my very humble view ....a real waste but that's how it goes and most clubs end up with one or two crocks.

Maybe he got injured training on the 3G pitch at Woburn Road.
He didn’t seem injured when he hit that screamer of a goal against Colchester last August.

We do have what seems to be a higher than should be average ratio of players who retire mid-contract with us - from memory I can recall Luke Jones? Mirfin, Diamond, Rhys Day. Anymore?

Is this confirmed? If so, he needs paying up
Separately, the club is at fault if due diligence wasn’t carried out in his signing. I find it impossible to believe that he wasn’t scrutinised physically before signing. We are run by an insurance magnate?
