Funny how folk moan about a competition that has u23s in it but want to watch Rangers u23s. It’s a joke having a pre season playing young players.

Apples & oranges though.

Pre season games are kick abouts with rolling subs, trialists & a mixture of 1st teamers & kids (even when it's supposed to be a full strength team). T'was ever thus.

U23s in the Chickenfeed cup is the thin end of a dangerous wedge, that could lead one day to researve EPL teams replacing smaller clubs in the EFL.

You’d be surprised.

Also there is a large amount of Rangers/Celtic fans living in Corby.

Went to see Leicester vs Celtic around 10 years ago, must have been 30+ coaches from Corby.

Wierd place Corby, a Jockinese ghetto in the middle of England although the Roma community was catching the Jocks up fast last time I went there.

True, there used to be a bus load going to every home game a couple of years back form the Brown Cow. All season ticket holders. Not sure about now like

Not sure if it's the same one but I know a few Boza lads who go to quite a few Rangers games each season and the bus runs from Mansfield. That one is definitely still running.

In a way this is good news that it's their U23s.

It might be like a 2-way interview.

Jack and Lee can identify the good players they might want on loan, while it gives the Rangers staff and players the opportunity to look round the place and see the sort environment they'll be in for a season and the kind of football we play.

It's the next logical step to the ones which were taken in Portugal.

Let's hope they aren't put off by Bishop Street.

If all goes well then I'd hope a couple of loans will follow.

They play in Scotlandshire. The Bishop Street is better than most grounds they’ll play at.

If they were put off by the Bishop Street how shallow would that seem ?

I hope something good comes from it.

I seem to recall that we got a young full back from Scotland called Pate. I can't remember if he was any good and if he played many games for us

Sandy Pate was signed from Watford and not direct from Scotland.

Yes but a very high proportion of fans travel from Ireland every week to watch either Celtic or Rangers.

Fine footballers ?

I can only think of one in the current scotland squad who i regard as fine and thats Robertson.

The rest are championship standard at best.

Im sure your well qualified to judge ,but lets be honest the english leagues are being taken over by foreigners who,,s quality is sometimes a bit suspect and englands team is more hype than substance not a dig just an honest assessment,
