Not sure why we need 3 target men. By all means everyone deserves a chance but with Davies, Cook, Rose, Graham and potentially 1 other "high quality" striker coming in, it seems very pointless.

complete waste, non league didn’t want him so we take him on trial, is this like the reserve car in Top Gear ?

Come on JD really ?

Cook yes great signing, improves our strike force however a non league journey target man, is not what we need, don’t get this at all sorry

A trial is just that, a trial. If he clicks it could well be another Teddy or then again another Ross Dyer.

Give the staff and the player a chance to work with the team, just a trial remember just like Nathan Cameron last season.

Forget the other 'mr High Qual'. He's fallen through.

It's just a trial. Kristian Pearce was signed after a trial. His former club Torquay got relegated the season before. If he isn't up to it, he won't get a contract.

I am very concerned that we would even consider this player. If he is not good enough for the bottom teams in the conference, why on earth should we be considering it.

Obviously our 'high quality striker' has fallen through. However, we don't need to be that desperate just yet. This makes Grimsby's signing of Matt Green all the more galling. If we don't sign a high quality striker (and given our current strikers, it needs to be someone with pace) then we are unlikely to get promotion this season.

Still - there is some way to go. Fingers crossed we will get someone decent (but sorry - I don't see Quigley fitting the bill at all, based on his record).

wow thick as pig raspberry all of you....

Every club takes random players on trial.. these sort of players ask a million clubs for a trial in the hopes of getting a contract, and this lad has done just that. He might end up being with us for a week and another club next week, we might even have 4/5/6 players on trial from all levels... that's the whole point, its a trial.. they're not a key target and they're not on trial because were aiming to sign them, they 100% will not of been on the list of target, were mostly doing them a favour and they're helping us while we don't have that many strikers fully fit in training... and if they impress we get a hopeful prospect. A non league team released him?? Didn't we do that. to lee Gregory and look at him now. This lad is young, on a TRIAL, best of luck to him.

Talk about panic over nothing.
