If he can be as good as he was before his injury he'll be like a new signing

Nothing to prove for me. A good player, played wrong.

Get the best out of him and we're cooking.
You've got to go there and come back, to know where you've been.

That's a very good attitude and I think a lot of us have forgotten just how good Otis can be.

His return could be like a new signing for the team and if he can start hitting the goals again we won't be too far off. I'm a bit more optimistic hearing how enthusiastic Khan is and hope that attitude flows throughout the rest of the team.

Look what went wrong for him last season what’s going to be the difference this season I really hope that he can put it together just don’t understand why he fell out of favour with the last manager

I think the structure DF played was pretty unforgiving - for some players there was just no place or job

Will be interesting how Demps plays

Good attitude in view of being left out a lot
Was in essence one of our top signings last season and really hope we can use him this season to the full
Well done Otis and good luck lad!!!

He was out for 2 months. He was competing for 1 position with Grant and on occasion Mellis (and rarer still, Hamilton). Grant would likely have not come cheap, and if he did come cheap there would be expectations from forest for the amount of playing time. It is not uncommon for the loaning club to want their player to be in the team regularly (unless they drop form badly or get injured and their replacement plays well)

This is likely why he only played bit parts. only one AMC and no wingers severely limits his playing time. I honestly do not see Khan as a regular midfielder. in the hole and out wide definitely. Depending on the system deployed by JD next season he could be a starter in AMC in the 3-5-2 or competing with CJ on the left wing in a 4-4-2 (or any other formation that JD uses that uses wingers)

We could have CJ on the right and Khan on the left and they swap sides during a game. until pre-season we don't have a scooby-doo what formation JD will play. Does he stick with the same formation the players did so well using last term or do we switch back to a "traditional" formation which the players will perhaps not be as used to? What I mean is they will have to "gel" again in the new style/formation. The back 4 will be used to being a back 3 and may expect a teammate to be somewhere they aren't and you will have teammates in positions they aren't used to playing the ball to. Football is a fast game and alot of the play is on instinct. Hence you get players putting the ball out for a throw-in, seemingly unnecessarily, this is because they are used to someone being there. Mellis and CJ had a decent partnership where they both would play instinctive balls to each other. Grant and Walker had a similar thing, but because they hadn't played together in a while they sometimes misread each other.

I thought he was superb when I saw him at Tranmere. Let’s hope he can get a chance and take it.

what is the progress with last seasons long term injuries . Khan and Davies look like they could be able to get a full pre season in , but when can we expect to see Hayden and Bobby back in contention ? . Is it Four decent looking addictions to the end of last seasons starting 11 or 2 to start with and 2 to come back later.

Looked electric at the beginning of the season. After the injury never got a chance past Grant, but do feel like something else must have gone, else surely he would've got another proper go when Grant's form went. guess Flitcroft just didn't fancy him.

From social media and interviews he seems the sort desperate to do well and probably leave Stags for a higher level, which is fine for me (as long as he does the first bit ;) ) .

I see both Khan and Macca as wingers competing for the same place. I don't rate Macca. Let's hope Khan is given a fair chance under JD.

I see Khan playing slightly more central, just behind the front two but with permission to go wide when he sees fit.
He looked a world beater early in the season (well, a League 2 beater anyway), but Flitcroft seemed to have the knack of coaching the talent out of players and even before his injury seemed to be losing his edge. Hopefully Dempster will allow creative players freedom to show what they can do without the nervousness that appeared to hold some of them back.

I don't think CJ or Mal Benning would agree with your statement that DF has " the knack of coaching the talent out of players ".
