“Mel Benning”

Nice to see John’s high standards maintained during the closed season.

Good to see Pearce positive, to say the end of the season was disappointing is an understatement and to not get a point at MK was criminal really but we move on and this is all history of the club now.

Not to get a win against Stevenage (despite the weather) was worse. Total capitulation, they wanted it more.

You can't call failing to get a point in a single game "criminal", what a stupid comment.

MK won the game and fully deserved to, as did Oldham and Stevenage. It was a huge failure not to win one of those game but in isolation each game is hard and the team we played did better.

Nowt we didn't already know.

This part of closed season  it would be nice to have some credible rumours rather than nothing, I'm guessing The Radfords, Demps & co are having a well deserved break. This period of nothingness is soooooooooo boring.

We lacked the grit and determination in the Stevenage game. A lack of concentration let us down early in the MK Dons game.

We got them both but back in the Newport game, but the poor referee decisions cost us in both games against Newport. But the Stevenage game was the biggest let down. Had we won that game the following games would have become irrelevant.

T'Clownty game was where it went off t'rails. Unforgiveable, and will stain them all who participated in that utter shambles as bottlers. It set the trend, and will worry me next term with most of t'same players.

The game before this away at Newport is where it went off the rails. 1 shot on target despite 10 corners.

The lack of goal scoring threat was evident and only repeated the week after at Mardy Lane.

Bish set the tone that day saying he hopes County stay up and do well etc etc - you say that after the game not before.

It started to go wrong from January if you look at the form table. Our form was even worse than chuffing County fgs. That's why many of us knew we'd end up bottling it because that's what Flitcroft is like & he confirmed it TWICE.

We hit a snag when olejnik got injured. We fully started derailing when white got injured. Jones came in, he wasn't match fit and had to gel to the right wingback role very quickly.

As for transfers. Players are still covered by employment law. They must have a minimum of 28 days paid holiday just like the rest of us. They all take their holidays during the close season. Hence not much movement from end of to beginning of June. Plus contracts generally run from 1st July to 30th June. Plenty of time for a player to get himself set up for the next season. Some like to get it done early so they can enjoy their holidays and some prefer to enjoy their holidays and get it done when they get back. Some don't go away and just manage it over the days off. With 8 or 9 weeks until the new season, who here would accept the first offer that came your way?
