Nothing else to shout about. They're Non-League and they're going to be for a good while yet.

Budget slashed, and their alcy manager thinks he can get them up on a small squad.

Irrelevant. They’re non league.

We’ll never play them again

It will be decades before they even consider playing ‘Mansfailed’ again. Hope they rot.

I bet they would swap positions in a heartbeat.

Playing at the class clown as that's all they have to offer.

It says a lot that our Fred about them had all but disappeared until this. Tables have turned and now they look to any little consolation, the only negative for this club is we didn’t make promotion this year the rest is us moving on. It’s a shame it’s at Flitcroft’s (& team) expense, they seemed good guys but they knew what JR expected and took on the opportunity.

Hopefully this is JR just moving us to sustainability and success, let’s just concentrate on our performance and the rest will just happen.

If their manager does do well and get them up near the top of the non league division with the small budget, how on earth are they gonna keep a hold of him when the bigger teams like Macclesfield or Morecambe come along and offer him more beer money.

Give it a couple years and we will have.

It’s the natural order after all.

Can you blame them ?

The general consensus from neutral football fans is JR has dropped a clanger.

I respect JR and CR for what they have done for the club and will continue to give my wholehearted support, but this decision has me concerned.

As said previously a good backup team will allay my fears, but if the rumours are true I will be even more concerned.

I'm sure the majority of those who wanted DF out are also concerned about the appointment.

The general consensus is people who just see the table and not understanding the money aspect or the self-destruction last season, to be fair.

And that’s not me saying it was the right decision or anything, I said you might as well give him another go beforehand, I just like adding balance :mtfc:

We don't need to give you a couple of years............. You are already the class clown. Of course I am using class as in the school context and not as a reflection of your skill levels.

Your club will not be back in the football league for a minimum of eight years and may drop another division before you start to climb again. There are plenty of ex league clubs down there who will be in the pecking order before the sheep and that isn't taking account of the new breed of instant clubs.

Look forward to your next generation going to support either Derby or more likely Sheffield Utd/Wed. You may even do a Darlington and have to move out of the sheep dip on cost grounds, I think Rotherhams old stadium may still be available if you get in quick and there is plenty of atmosphere at Alfreton's ground.

So to sum up, above us in a couple of years? - I think not little puppy (or is that lamb?)

Had it not been for two poor decision by an official not up to his job then DF would still be in a job at least until the end of this month. Fine lines. Too fine to sack a manager who has got us to the highest league position in a decade.

It’s not all down to the manager though is it.....he’s been helped massively by Radford providing him the biggest budget the club has ever had, overnight stays, training a the best training grounds in the world, pre season training camps.

I think given all that I could of got them top five !

Great point.

If it was not for a dreadfully poor performance at MK and not getting the one point needed in the last 9 we would have been promoted automatically, that's surpassing fine lines to be fair, I think you have a very valid argument for keeping him and sacking him quite frankly, I'm not so sure you want to even entertain the other side of the coin.

For what it is worth, you'll find eventually if JR has made a gooseberry up or not, but either way I'm sure we will still all be grateful.

I wouldn't read anything into that. The nature of non league is such that a team like Solihull Moors can be in with a shout of auto promotion with a few games left. Also County were favourites to rip L2 apart this year
