Thank You Radfords

Postby Sedgwick » Sun May 12, 2019 8:12 pm

Massive thanks to them again for what's been the best season for a long long time in the league.

- Training ground ready
- Youth system still doing well
- Attendances up
- Better match day experience
- Actually challenging in this league

I don't believe in constantly sacking the manager, its bloody stupid to do it every year and keep clearing the squad out. But I trust JR to make the right decision and will back him.

we'd be a pub team if it weren't for them. Everything they do and continue to do, Thank you.

Massive business decision for Radford coming up, do you keep a underperforming employee who is wasting your money because he could come good/he is a nice guy?

I feel for JR and CR, best owners in the land but let down by the manager and players.

So who would you choose to replace him?

Incredibly grateful that we still have a club to get upset over. It's a borderline miracle. How much longer he fancies wasting money on us though is reason to worry.

Do we think JR will fund big again next season for a third promotion push? I for one hope he does and keeps DF

Stop blowing smoke up the Radford’s arses. They know what they let themselves in for.
I have every faith in JR making the appropriate funds available for DF to re-group and to improve our league position for the third year in a row.

I think he'll do both.

Gutted tonight but we had enough chances, esp 2nd half. More abysmal refereeing too.

Dig a bit deeper John.

I'll be there next August. We all will.

Win the flipping league next season.

Top post Sedgwick. Thank you to the Radfords for an exciting season. Ultimately it hasn't worked out but I don't see the point of changing our manager and thus the whole squad. We've got some great league 2 players and we'll be competing again next season. Give Flitcroft one more season to get us over the line.

You will not achieve that with this manager Nice bloke, talks a great game, cannot deliver. Start afresh. Get Coleman in from Accrington and give him the money you've given Flitcroft, it will be much better spent.

Why is it about money nothing to do with money if you get the right players give them a system they can buy in to. Look at Accrington run on a shoe string starting their 2nd season in Division 1 n still got the majority of freebees they started with in 2017/2018 season but 1 major difference is their manager knows how to get the best out of a squad of 20+ players.

You can look at all 4 divisions n somewhere in there will be a team running on very little player funds but Boxing above their weight with smaller crowds compared to the division their in.

The likes of...

Bournemouth
Burton
Accrington

You dont need to splash the cash for success just need the right pegs in the right holes n dam good leader motivator friend n manager rolled into 1

The key for success

Money buys you better pegs to fill the holes.

It's the peg you put in the dug out that does that.

In football money talks, the richest clubs have, generally, the most success. There are flashes in the pan but those clubs that by luck or good management achieve beyond their budget struggle to maintain it beyond a season or two.

Back to the OP. Without JR & CR we would have ended up like York, I've no doubt. We've never had owners as good as this. They deserve our thanks and they deserve success.

Hope their interest in Mansfield is not on the wain, They have missed a few games towards the end of the season. Could we see Steve H made chairman with JR still owning the club.
