Just got back from watching the game in Carter Lane club, I said it was a tough one to call between him and Logan for my man of the match. He's getting better and better.

He was fantastic and exactly what you need against a team like Newport who put so much pressure on teams with high balls. More of the same from Turner Sunday hopefully!

Concussion = 7 days off mandatory
He could be available - I’d start turner against the Newport strikers!

Flitcroft said on Tuesday that he would 'probably' miss both games. As good as he has been, none of the three who played tonight deserve to be dropped.

If Preston is fit he's in, he's terrific. But Turner has to start so either Preaton or Sweeney at right back ahead of Jones.

Why go back to playing players out of position? Also why would we play a left footed centre back at right wing back?

I had a chat with some Burton Albion fans when I went to the Stadium of Light a month ago as part of trying to tick off the 92. They were full of praise for Ben Turner and could not believe he was not playing regularly for the Stags. They said he only left Burton because Mansfield offered him more money.
I pointed out that the problem he had was that the Stags played three at the back and all three centre halfs were having a great season and we had the best defence in the League. Furthermore, it was clear that if he was going to play in our three at the back then he needed to play in the middle but that is Krystian Pearce's best position and he is our captain and in my view our player of the season. It was therefore looking very difficult for him to get in the side.
He was clearly not fit when he made his debut at County and playing on the left side of the three at the back does not suit him as he does not have the pace.
