How's this compare with previous years?

18/19 = 983 this season
17/18 = 784 eighth place finish
16/17 = 539 Evans' second half season
15/16 = 375 Murray's only full season
14/15 = 324 fourth from bottom finish in table
13/14 = 508 first season back in League Two
Those accustomed to privilege may feel that equality is oppression.

Thanks Pete.

Makes for positive reading.

Best away game for me was Stevenage non stop singing the entire game coupled with a great performance. Drummer for that game was fantastic.

Followed by either Oldham or West Brom (Despite the losses) brilliant atmosphere made by all. Especially leading up to kick-off at Oldham.

I didn’t go to Oldham but my highlight was West Brom. For me the best football I’ve seen the stags play in a long time.

Could be a bit low on the away followings next season

Scunthorpe Northampton Bradford and Grimsby seem to be the best of a bad bunch.

Better hope the lads wake up tomorrow!

Attendance wise at home it’s another step in the right direction. Very pleasing to see.

By my calculations, if you unclude the play off game as a L2 fixture, our average home gate was exactly 5,000 this season.

Some reward for JRs efforts.

Average Attendance

Taking all 23 league games and yesterdays play off semi our average home attendance this season has been exactly 5,000.

Well done to all and hopefully we can improve this next season.

Very impressive. Cleary bumped up for the bigger games which we'll lose next season, but on the whole, the gates are on the rise.

A couple of decent signings in the summer and a good start to the season and the misery of this year will soon be forgotten. In the words of a very wise man interviewed by BBC at Newport away - What's done is done, we march on.

Take away our 4 biggest attendances our average is still 4700.

Pretty dam good if you ask me and at the level I’ve always thought Mansfield should be getting.

All four relegated teams (Bradford, Scunthorpe, Walsall and Plymouth) will bring decent followings, unless we get Plymouth on a Tuesday night, so that shouldn’t drastically affect our attendances. Leyton won’t bring less than Yeovil and Salford May well bring a good crowd..A lot will depend on how we are performing.

If Salford bring more than 200 (their actual fan base size) it will be the biggest miracle since the resurrection of Jesus.

First game of the season they might bring 500.

Salford’s numbers next year might be helped by FC United’s relegation to the Northern Prem.

Fantastic attendance yesterday for a pre-Christmas game of 4,496 (474 from Northampton). JR has certainly grown the crowds since he arrived on the scene.

Average Attendances
2010/11 2,123
2011/12 2,682
2012/13 2,758
2013/14 3,385
2014/15 3,021
2015/16 3,439
2016/17 3,774
2017/18 4,309
2018/19 4,897
2019/20 4,208 (12th)

We are certainly missing County and the Spireites when it comes to away followings. Northampton's following of 474 was the third highest of the season. However we have Port Vale, Grimsby Town, Bradford City, Swindon Town and Walsall still to come.

Scunthorpe - 554
Plymouth - 550
Northampton - 474
Oldham - 441
Leyton Orient - 326

A good following on Boxing Day from Port Vale. The best away following of the season:

Port Vale - 953
Scunthorpe - 554
Plymouth - 550
Northampton - 474
Oldham - 441
Leyton Orient - 326

It pushes our average gate up to 4,321(11th)

The Bradford City attendance of 15,197 was the second largest away attendance for a Stags league game since 16,210 came to watch us at Portsmouth in a 0-0 draw on 24th October 2015. It was my only visit to Fratton Park.

Apologies - MK Dons away game from last season has been erased from the memory.

indeed. Over 20,000 at MK Dons. I don't blame Tippy for wiping it from the memory bank though. Pretty bad day.
