We need wins now so we need to be braver in the last 10 minutes of games and go for it if we are drawing. We have eased off a bit in both the Crawley and Lincoln games and settled for a point. Teams that gain automatic promotion tend to score late winners.

This is becoming quite concerning considering we have last years debacle hanging over us.

Well said BH. I’ve been saying for a while look after ourselves and we’ll be fine but that’s exactly what we’re not doing at the moment.

We have now officially played each team once. As i did last year working on the basis that if you win at home and draw away i.e take 4pts per team you'll get 92 points .Below is the road map for the remaining reverse fixtures and outcome required to secure 4pts against each team.

The defeat against Exeter means only 3pts rather than 4pts are attainable setting 91pts as the starting target.

Bury H (W) (W) +0 91pts
Swindon H (W) (D) -2 89pts
Grimsby A (D) (W) +2 91pts
Carlisle A (D) (L) -1 90pts
Yeovil H (W) (L) -3 87pts
Colchester A (W) (W) +0 87pts
Tranmere H (W) (W) +0 87pts
Macclesfield H (W) (W) +0 87pts
Newport A (D) (L) -1 86pts
Notts County A (D) (L) -1 85pts
Forest Green H (W) (W) +0 85pts
Cheltenham H (W) (W) +0 85pts
Port Vale A (D) (L) -1 84pts
Crawley A (D) (D) +0 84pts
Lincoln H (W) (D) -2 82pts
Crewe H (D) (L) -1 81pts
Exeter A (W)
Cambridge H (W)
Northampton A (D)
Morecambe H (D)
Oldham A (W)
Stevenage H (D)
MK Dons A (W)

7 games remain - 4 Wins 3 Draws will give us 81 points.

Based on current deterioration levels we are looking at about 76 points.

We were going well until the January transfer window when you are supposed to strengthen your squad. The form in the 15 games since the Grimsby win on New Year's Day has been W6 D3 L6 (21 points). The form in the previous 15 games was W8 D7 L0 (31 points).

Slightly lower points per game now with Grant in the side, compared to before Grant joined.

To work out the points per game with Elsnik starting vs Grant, you'd have to go through and work out which games Elsnik started (he only started 12 don't forget) and then work out the points won.

Timi Elsnik - W7 D4 L1 (25 points)

25 points from 12 games = 2.08 points per game

It's looking like a massive mistake by DF to not keep him and sign Jorge Grant instead. He was usually worth a solid 7 out of 10.

I'm assuming 81 points will be enough for automatic promotion, TOP 3 finish.

Current Table
PLD.....W......D.....L......PTS......PPG
39......17.....15....7......66.......1.69

Required for 81 points
PLD....W......D......L......PTS......PPG
7.......5.......0......2.......15......2.14
7.......4.......3......0.......15......2.14

Based on our current PPG 1.74 we would finish on 78 points, which is usually Play-Offs.

In our last 8 league games we've averaged PPG 1.00 (relegation form)

Lincoln now sold 4,300 for MK Dons away, and are aiming to take at least 5,000+.

How many do you think Stags will take to MK Dons if we could be promoted, They previously gave Coventry 8,000 tickets.

How many of you would take going to MK Dons having to win to secure automatic promotion? I'd be tempted at the moment.

Absolutely I would. I'd feel sick to the stomach on the way there and all game but at least it would mean that we've won a couple up to that point...
