He creates which a lot of our players are unable to do. He’s not a grafter unfortunately but he makes CJ and Tyler better players when he’s on the pitch.
Opinions I suppose, I'd send him back. Mardy, workshy, lightweight, nesh, prancing puff. Once again his second touch was a tackle.

Still too much of a “Fancy Dan” for L2 football.

He was poor again today. We can't afford passengers like that when we already have Walker and CJ are already lightweight. I wouldn't start him Saturday.

Ballsy from Flitcroft to take him off, but the right decision. Grant didn’t look too pleased.

What Grant needs is a thread from Norman asking Forest to take him back.

No that's a new one on me. He's probably nesh, as in cold as well, a bit more effort would fix that...

Fair enough. Maybe it's a geographical thing. Where are you from?

He’s getting some mindless abuse @‘d at him on Twitter. That should really help him put the effort in.

This is his job and he just doesn't graft.
I'd get the sack for that lack of effort, give me Elsnik any day of the week.

Put Tomlinson at the side of Bish and let Mellis do the creative stuff, he was on fire before Grant came and took the role.

We all saw what Otis Khan was capable of last season for Yeovil, and he looked more than capable of replicating that in Pre-Season for us.
For whatever reason he's never really got going here, but after his cameo at Vale, I'm surprised he's not been given more of an opportunity since to show he's better on his day than Grant.
Not forgetting we actually own the player and paid decent money for him too. He must be watching Grant strolling about trying his fancy flicks, wondering what on earth he has to do to get an opportunity to impress.

Spot on Rob since the January transfer window we've not been the same side perhaps the likes of White n Bobby getting injured as not helped... IMO the likes of Grant have not improved or impressed on what we already have.

That sums it up perfectly for me. Mellis was on top form and creating so much.

The flip side of that is that Mellis was hopeless last night for about 65 minutes. Also terrified of a tackle, won't put a foot in, waiting for the ball to come to him, was a passenger and looked out of his depth.
Wrong position I guess. Midfield of Bishop Tomlinson and Mellis/Khan maybe needed now. Can't win a fight with a guy who can't fight.

Mellis did fine.
Khan was brilliant at the start and it’s a bit concerning he cannot get in.

Maybe Khan is struggling with not being the star of the side like he was at Yeovil. He needs game time though. Agree that he can be a major player for us.

I thought we lost a lot of quality when he went off last night, didnt really look like scoring. Mellis should of been taken off, he was 2 yards behind everyone and it does not register with him when their is ''danger''.
Khan should be given a chance too.

This. I was surprised that Mellis wasn't replaced by Tomlinson much earlier, he just wasn't on the pace of the game. Khan should have replaced Grant.

Thought Mellis was poor. No point playing a more creative player at home if he's not in the game. Tomlinson should have been on at half time for him.

Drop Grant play Khan and Tomlinson maybe for a change as Mellis great when all is well but is not a fire eater of a player when the chips are down.

Can't sour our relationship with forest. :/

The frustrating thing with Grant, is we've all seen what he's capable of.
If it's an attitude problem, then maybe he would do well to reflect on the fact that he's got 8 games to prove to Forest he's as capable as Yates of getting into their first team squad, or 8 games to showcase himself to his next club.
Maybe he has already done this and is trying too hard to be a world beater instead of doing the simple things well.
Most fans will forgive a misplaced hollywood pass, if it's preceded by grafting for the team and (mostly) retaining possession.

Last night he was clearly scared of getting that 2nd booking, hence the weakness in some challenges. But we looked less threatening when he went off.
he was clearly frustrated at being subbed - passion?
