It's because they made him the highest paid manager the club has ever had & he lives 15 miles down the road.

I heard a rumour that's very different. Him and Dave Allen had a big falling out when he left and were never said to be on the best of terms. The rumour I heard was that Sheridan owed a lot of money to Mr. Allen's casinos.

Aye he did - already mentioned - likes a drink too.

If I bordered on being an alcoholic I'm not sure managing that lot would do me much good

I reported on them at Ebbsfleet and added tweets and observations on here they were poor and lucky to get anything from that game. Surprised in their current plight? Not at all

Pity owing to work and home life I can't get to Bromley on Tuesday night

Don't worry, I can report that irrespective of result it will be a scruffy horrible game with some shocking technical ability on display
Yes, and I suspect Bromley won't be much better :)

They've won 5 of their last 10 and are still only 2 points above the relegation zone. Fair to say if they hadn't got rid of Allen when they did they'd be doomed, and they still might be

Of course it is Dan, but Chumpers thinks otherwise. For Sheridan dragging his sorry ass up and down the M6 to Carlisle 3-4 times a week when he could milk the sheep for the more in wages and less travelling was a no brainer. We had a manager once who did the same (can't remember his name, fat odious chap) and he ended up getting the sack from his club and I've a feeling Chumpy'll be wanting JS out inside 14 months.

I said or thought nothing of the sort.

Plus Sheridan lives in Leeds, not Sheffield.

Just something else you’re wrong about then...

Also their massive game against that well known powerhouse of Sutton united is on tv this weekend.

We have been following in the footsteps of Orient for the last few seasons and I see no reason why that should change.

Of course Orient my blow it this season and be another Wrexham

They have the luxury of being in London so can hoover up talent released by the clubs around them, you don't have that.

Maybe you should have done. It was a poor turn out for a huge game. I fully expected it to be a sell-out but I was some way wide of the mark it seems.

An observation. Do you not think the gravity of the game, two promotion chasing sides in a local derby justified it?

When we had a TV game game of a similar stature, at the same stage of the season v Rotherham there were 8000 home fans in a sell-out.

You should go up though, although the game last night was an appalling spectacle. I didn’t realise Lincoln were such an horrible outfit to be honest.

That’s what we get deal with it....football not all about who gets the biggest attendance if it was it’d be very boring....but then again I’m sure you lot could fiddle your attendances by an extra thousand or so a game to move your way up the leagues  .

Lincoln play an ugly brand but I bet it’s classed as tippy tappy car park footy in that league your in.

When you played Rotherham you were 10 points clear at the top of the league and playing your first season in a new shiny stadium.
Stags have no recent history of being in that position, we have not even finished in the play off positions since we got promoted back. Our crowds are generally on the up due to a modicum of success and potential (nothing achieved yet) and if we can hit the heights your club did during the first half of this decade then I am sure we can add another thousand or so, yours are down to 4-5 k due to not being able to sustain your recent purple patch in terms of success and sexy football. If you get stuck in level 5 for a few more seasons then your crowds will drop further.
Just 4 years ago you were averaging more than double our crowds (albeit with a constructive counting system), the gap has gone and moving the other way. We could average more than you for the first time since 2003/04 when you were one level higher than us in the pyramid (our average was approx 1000 more if I remember)
First match : 04.01.1975 home v Cambridge Utd F.A.Cup 3rd Round 1-0 Clarke
