By all accounts of a similar ilk to Alfie May who Donny snapped up from the same division and he's been successful stepping up through the divisions (as did/has Mo Eisa to name but two)

He says the Mansfield scout has visited twice now in recent weeks to check on him. The other teams have only been once and the interest seems stronger from the Stags

Pretty reliable source, that!

It's good to see we have an established scout network now. Under Paul Cox when we drew Concord Rangers the club wouldn't send anyone down to watch them so I did it for the club more than once and sent up a report - Whether or not it was referred to, who knows.

When reporting in the Kent region, much like our Mr Shaw, I keep an eye out for talent worth bringing attention to.

no, didn't see him play for Woking.

he played for Newport against us
https://stagsnet.net/match/reports/view ... atchid=758

and a late sub for Plymouth against us
https://www.stagsnet.net/match/reports/ ... easonid=14

He's obviously having a great season at Hythe, where his manager is the brother of Kent and England cricketer Joe Denly.

World of difference from Isthmian Lge to FL. He may have 'clicked' I don't know. We've had them before, OSJ, Adi etc but they rarely cut the mustard, maybe Zak is the next Vardy though who knows.

We also passed up Andre Grey and signed Ollie Palmer, so win/win there... :/
You've got to go there and come back, to know where you've been.

Just putting my tin hat on before I say this.

How we could do with the current Ollie Palmer now.

Brave man.

Ollie is a different player now, maybe just matured and acclimatised to League 2? Always worked hard but liked to miss a sitter.

Adi Yussuf is also looking a better player, 1 in 3 this season for Solihull. I saw him on TV and barely recognised him, he’s trimmed up and looks like a footballer these days!

The thing with Palmer is he is a good league 2 player now, and has been for a season or 2. When he joined us he needed time to progress and was a bang average player. It was his unprofessionalism when he left here that gets him the kind of response he gets. Because he's now good in this league that's why he scores against us. I'm sure that deep down he regrets what he said when he left here, now he's matured a bit more now.

I feel the same way about Palmer. He wasn't successful here, went to the Os and suffered a bit of foot in mouth disease, then has been subject to our 'special treatment ' , and is currently I suspect in the lead in the game of dislike.
I'd have him back for a few games if it were possible , couldn't make us look any less toothless without Tyler.

I seem to recall that Gray was way outside our budget but Palmer wasn't. Ollie was seen as a good prospect for the future.
