A Carlisle fan's view

Postby d3d4 » Sat Jan 05, 2019 8:24 pm

Hi all,

It was a shame to see the unbeaten away record come to end but it sounded like a good game at least.

Our Carlisle correspondent was at the game and you can read his match-report below:

Thanks

Thats five minutes of my life i’ll never get back.

Perhaps a point of note, is if you want to get other supporters to read views etc such as these, try not to have childish digs at the end of them.

We are more reluctant to not bother visiting in future.

What a badly written, childish and frankly poor quality match report. If that's the quality you're churning out I won't bother visiting the website again.

I wouldn't bother posting links here again.

Nice one for shooting yourselves in the foot there.

Well played indeed.

Looks like there isn't a very stringent interview process at d3d4.......

I can confirm that that was an entirely biased and poorly written match report. Hope Carlisle get smashed in their next match now.

So our performance contrasted from one of character? Are you mad? 10 men and still score 2 against the form team away. We have a never say die attitude, even on an off day. Poor article.

The view of the Carlisle fan we stayed with was that they did a very good job on us. He thought we looked fitter, younger and a better footballing side but they pressed us hard so that we lost possession to easily.
His view was that Grainger set Bishop up and he fell for it.
He thinks we will do better over the season and that is based on the worst overall performance I have seen this season (despite us scoring twice)

I can’t tell it’s been written by a Carlisle fan...

From a Stags perspective:
Losing 3-2 away against the form team in the league with 10 men isn’t the worst result when contextualised. We were poor for much of the game and they’ve been scoring for fun of late so it could have been much worse. Getting two goals towards the end may have flattered us somewhat but it shows the character the lads have, if we use that when we turn up it’ll be alright over the course of the season.

Do we really need these childish, amateurish and bissed reports each week?

What's more do they adhere to the rules?

Patronising in the extreme, everyone, including other supporters of our rivals, seem to be revelling in our second defeat of the season. They are not seeing the bigger picture.

Does that not show how far we've come though? They're taking an opportunity to gloat fair enough but the road won't be plain sailing from here to May and we will likely lose a few more on the way.

If come the end of the season we are promoted then we'll be the ones doing the gloating.

Yeovil is now a key game as we need to bounce back and show it was a blip. Everyone loses a game at some point its how you recover that counts.

I've never in my 30 years watching Stags known us to get favourable coverage by the press. I know this is 'the press' in the loosest possible terms (more a bunch of spotty lower-league anorak fans) but its what we've come to expect. Well let them carry on talking crap. I don't care two jots if everyone hates us. Success breeds jealousy.

I'm sorry you guys feel that way.

I am never one to shy away from criticism but I will always allow fans to say what they think as long as it is not offensive.

I would love to have a Mansfield fan write for the site to offer their contrasting view.

Obviously, this piece was written in the immediate aftermath of the game when the writer's emotion were still running high. I take great pride in helping young writers develop their journalism and writing skills, using D3D4 as a platform, though this does often mean the articles are not as polished as they could be.

We have seen three or four contributors go on to get media jobs thanks to the writing they have done for the site and I hope to help many young writers in the future.

Kind regards,
James

Why is is person still allowed to spam our site without contribution, or at least have the decency to ask Martin if it is ok to spam with their terrible editorials with writers with the potential to write for the Daily Potato online.

This author has been asked, in other threads, several times to contribute to this site by myself and other posters (to be fair to Martin). Each request has gone unheeded and it is obviously just a freeloader taking advantage of a nice mild mannered man (Martin).

In future I will not be bothering to read any posts or threads which appear in his name and can I suggest we all do the same.

Being a bit of a technophobe I'm not sure how to block him but will try.
