Looks like a good move. Promising player and he should benefit from some regular game time.

Should indeed gain valuable experience in a competitive league. Will help develop him into a solid defender who may well be able to make that all important jump to 1St team player. He's certainly looked capable of making our team with a little more experience.

That'll be Mirfin about bench ready for county game then, surely?

Has Gibbo a recall clause in this loan deal, just in case we get another plethora of injuries/illnesses? Gibbo's done great in the games he's played in imo. Come next Tuesday it looks as though we'll be putting out a team closer to 1st team strength I'd imagine.

This is what Flitcroft said after the first game against Charlton Athletic:

“He is doing really well but he’s been a long time out. He has about another two weeks to go before he is back in full-time training with us.”

“If we’re doing shape with no contact we involve Dave as it’s important mentally to have him in and around it. “After that you are then looking at a real pre-season methodology. “He won’t be able to play on the 3G where our games could be played. So we’ll have to reschedule them and get him his own games programme which we’re working on.

“It will be a real individualised programme he comes back to. “At every stage we won’t be pushing him too quick. We have to get it right. “It will really crank up for him over the next four to six weeks, but then you’re looking at getting him six to eight games in before we all believe he is game-ready to come into our environment"

He could be like a new signing when he comes back (mirfin) that is. feels like he's been injured for years

Just in time for March.and the final push over the promotional line like Bobby.said it will be like having a new signing fit full strength and biting on the bit to achieve promotion

After seeing Mirfin last season I don't think he's good enough. Hopefully our three incredible centre halves stay fit throughout the season.

Depending on how much Tranmere would want I'd like to see us bring Manny Monthe in.

Does this mean we're likely to be playing 4-3-3 going forward if we're willing to let Gibbens go on loan?

as soon as Hayden White came back he was dropped from the bench, White will be cover for cb and Atkinson cover for wing back.

yes, that's how I see it. And Hamilton as more cover for wing back.

Agree but White can’t seem to go two games without getting injured.

by the way, Gibbens can play tomorrow in the Checkatrade trophy, if selected.
