I’ve been fairly critical of him at times but end of the day the lad is scoring goals. Fair play to him, if it seems he’s not trying overly hard and goes missing for spells yet he scores a tap in from two yards then he has more than done his job.

Think a few folk need to ease up on him now and realise the lad will score goals for us.

There's not been much sensible criticism of Tyler except to say that his perceived attitude has been a little less than 100% committed, and that his finishing has been disappointing. Not many have questioned his obvious technical ability and his value as a second forward player, but it has to be said that he signed as a goalscorer, not an intelligent provider of half chances.
The criticism reached a crescendo before the Crewe match.

Whether someone has passed on the fan grumblings and constructive criticism in his direction I have no idea. Probably not. But somehow in the last couple of games he seems to have addressed these very shortcomings very effectively, almost as if stung by criticism and wanting to push it down our throats. Great! If these had been the first two games of the season we'd be raving about this loan signing, and projecting his performances to 30+ goals and a promotion season.

He now has more league goals than several of the other names touted on here pre-season as potential solutions to the striker problem, including Akinde, Hemmings, Amond, Reid and Szmodics. And he's top scorer at the club.

Don't forget the much sought after Krystian Dennis who many on here wanted. Remind me again how many he's scored?

The relegated Spireites are all cursed. He and Kellett may have moved on to Notts, but they've taken their malediction with them. You can't hide from karma

The break from the starting line-up seems to have worked a treat. Even in the MK Dons game he looked sharper and was at least getting chances despite not putting them away.

He is a relatively young man learning his trade.

He has scored more goals for us this season, than any other season in which he has played senior football.

He needs to be encouraged not bashed.

I agree Andy, the reason he’s here and not with Forest is that despite the talent he’s young and inconsistent.

The only way to solve that is experience so the plan is the more we play him and support him the more he learns and the better he gets. You almost want him to go on to bigger and better things as it implies he’s already done it with us, lets hope for a cracking second half of the season!

I’d also say that about the likes of Khan and CJ, they have plenty of talent and hopefully just need time to mature.

The stats really should be either league or league and cup. Those are neither. Walker has 6 league goals. And 10 league and cup goals. They have excluded Checkatrade Trophy from the cup games, which they shouldn't be doing as they are still first team games.

That’s because it’s not competitive :)

Checkatrade is good for the prize money though.

I wish people would stop disrespecting the Checkatrade. It's the same cup we won in 87 all be it in a differnet format. If we got to the latter stages everyone would be on the bandwagon again.

I'm not sure whether Tyler is aware of comments on here and other social media but it is great that on scoring he goes to the crowd. No gestures just the pleasure of doing his job.

There's not a chance he looks at online comments. Some naive players do, but he's the son of a high profile player and I'd expect he's been advised accordingly.

I haven't been able to attend the last few games (watched a couple on ifollow) but I'd love to have seen the reaction of the miserable sod in front of me who always slates Walker. I bet he didn't even celebrate his goals.
