:) Its about lasting the distance and not undoing all our good work in the last 10 minutes and injury time.
Well , we probably win this.

Run out for the fringers?

No game Sat, so t'will be a long lay off for em so it maybe beneficial to play a strong team and see whether we can start converting chances.

Couldn’t give two hoots about this tournament however as mentioned above let’s give it a right go and operate a shoot on sight policy! Hopefully convert some chances!

Not a big fan of the current format of this competition. Sold its soul when the Premier League teams decided to play sides in the football league ‘entering through the back door’. (Euphemism intended as the FL got right royally rogered by the Premier League over this issue. Wait till the furore over this calms down and they try and get B or reserve teams in the football league).

Will be going due to hoping that one day I will experience the same elation as I felt as a 14 yr old when George Foster scored the equaliser against Wigan many, many years ago.

So, two nil to the Stags, played in a near empty ground with no atmosphere and against players that look down their noses at league two.

Careful what you wish for Mr. Premier League as you might kill the dreams of a generation of 14 yr old real football fans.

It would be good for the club financially obviously as is every game we win but I wouldn’t travel to Wembley for it.

Win tonight and pretty much through to next round, more cash for the club and of course the potential to go further. I get that the competition is flawed, but this competition is pretty lucrative and of course gives the fringe players much needed game time - the match at Lincoln was terrific.

You will all go to Wembley so why not support the boys during the early rounds as well!

I agree with Norman, this completion is massively devalued to what it once was. The prestige associated with it, the magic of a cup football tournament which we could do well in and win (Remember ‘85 and ‘87) has been replaced by one that until the latter rounds does not excite the fans. Accountants may be happy, Chairmen may be happy, Premier League acolytes with one eye on having reserve teams in the football league might be happy but as a traditionalist football fan I am not.

I am going to watch, purely as a Stags fan that supports my team. Not that I suspect there will be many from Wolverhampton supporting their reserves there this evening.

But as sang the Jam sang in ‘Going Underground’, ‘The Public wants what the public gets’. Just don’t sleep walk into letting the Premier League ruin another little slice of real football.

It's quite easy for anyone to say they won't go to Wembley when it's still only a distant possibility, maybe not quite as easy if we actually got there. I'd certainly go.
I also don't remember the early rounds in 85 and '87 being particularly well supported.

It was a proper competition back then, not a PL pampered one. I’d appreciate the competition moe if they installed National League sides or even Scottish/Welsh sides like they do in the Scottish Challenge Cup.
