Can’t imagine them pulling it now, it would have been announced now surely?

Less than a week before a game, to pull it at such short notice now when the international folks have had ages for call ups would say to me it's on.

Barbados have a game Sunday so unless Pearce is unwanted, he will be away

I expect the game to go ahead. I can't say for certain though. Sweeney has been called up by Rep Ire U21. I could not find definitive news on Pearce but I think it's inconceivable that Barbados would drop him. I don't know about Sterling-James and St Kitts. I asked Mark Stevenson on Saturday - he also expects the Grimsby game to go ahead.

Credit to Dave for letting them go and play for their country... I know Jonno whos the Guyana head coach and the concaf nations league is being taken very seriously over there by some tiny countries.

Good luck to them, what a great experience.

Fair play to the lads on their call ups, obviously something they’ll be proud of and you can never stand in the way of.

That said, it is slightly annoying for our season. Leaving us further behind and playing catch up even more. It’s all well and good going through the season saying ‘oh but we’ve got 2 games in hand’, you’ve got to actually win those games. It’s going to take a while to get back up to the top 7.

We wouldn’t have anyway, unless we had played two hours injury time

Damn. Was hoping a lack of centre backs would force his hand into changing formation. Instead we are playing catch up even more. Don't really see why losing 1 player and a loanee is enough to warrant a postponement personally. Especially not at 6 days notice.

If we are without Pearce and Sweeney I’d rather it be off with Bish suspended too.

Bit narked this decision has been taken so late.

Rubbish, we are losing 3 first team players, it's not rocket science!

Pearce - One of the first names on the team sheet
Sweeney - Again one of the first names on the team sheet, the fact he's on loan is irrelevant
Sterling-James - Squad player who will be around the starting 11 if required

Agree it's not great timing but it's the right decision.

It's pretty annoying, but as others have said, it's the right decision to make.

Shame though, as Grimsby on a Tuesday night will have a good 1,000 less than a Saturday game probably - one I won't be able to make :(

Very frustrating.
I hope they don't postpone the Exeter away match in March as I've already booked accommodation (staying a few days, and good rooms are already selling out).

Agree. Ticket sales will be the biggest impact on the club, can you get a refund if you have purchased a ticket but can’t make the rearranged game? My mate was coming up for this one but I doubt he’ll be able to now.

The right decision to call it off but a bit late in the day, I’m guessing it’s down to waiting for the respective FAs to declare their squads?

Great news for the respective players, hope they go on the shine for their nations.

Not quite sure how you would have changed the formation. Assuming White is still injured we would have only had 3 defenders available - Preston, Benning and Gibbens - so they would have to be the back 3 with probably Hamilton and Atkinson as the wing backs.
If Bishop is also suspended we could have ended up losing what should be a winnable game.

It is frustrating, as our lower league position might affect confidence and impact subsequent games. Perhaps this isn't the year to have an FA cup run.
Hopefully when these fixtures are rearranged we will be winning games, rather than drawing them.
And who knows, we might even acquire a good goalscorer in January. ;)
