Lincoln, Tranmere, Stevenage, Bury, Crewe, Colchester off top of my head have similar set ups.

Lincoln don't, they train at my son's school. Plans have recently been passed for a training ground near RAF Scampton though.

I think it looks good and I presume will be where most of the players and coaching staff will work on a daily basis. What plans, then, for the existing training pitch at the Wonk?

After last weeks MOD announcement, they'll now be able to use the whole Scampton airfield! :banghead:

I'm old school awc and get frustrated with decisions based solely on the root of all evil.

Hence the Government selling off our heritage, not to mention our defence capabilities.

Goodbye 633 Squadron (if you don't know, ask your granddad) and the home of the Red Arrows, who've had to wander the country for 9 years before finally having a home to call their own and are now being evicted again!

We had to bring our fallen back to the UK from Iraq and their first contact with their loved ones was at Lynham. Now it's a housing estate!

The defence estate is a very expensive, crumbling sub-standard estate, and most of the infra was built piecemeal from WW2.

Scampton closed once and was reopened.

We don’t have the same size Armed Forces these days. If it’s not cost effective then close it and get some money in.

Very true, 90,000 in the RAF when I joined, 34,000 now. We don't need the bases and Scampton is falling to bits. Reds probably off to Wittering. It will end up like Witham St Hughs, which was built on what was RAF Swinderby. Anyway, back on topic, the training ground looks fantastic!

Laney,

Now in JR's hands, permission is there but will we actually ever see a hotel?

My view is, first one of the four to be built will be the only one to be built, we will wait and see?

Naa, The travelodge will 100% be built regardless. Smack bang in Town Centre, no brainer.

obviously not great news for MTFC however I think there is room for both.

Many businesses I don't think would use a travelodge in a town centre whereas a hilton is more appealing to buisness entertaining.
