He is but not quite as bad. But I think it's good PR.

If things start to go pear shape for them, then we will see what Allen is made of.

When Fatso first arrived at MTFC, he was full-on PR - visiting sick kids etc.

He was and it got me thinking that all the bad press he received was unfair. Hmm.

Craig davies signed today. Saw that he was once prolific for the church benders. Have those from ches got an opinion?

Not a great deal of reaction on Bob's Board. They think he will be a flop and is past his best.

The Spireite massive are conspicuously absent since they got relegated.

This is so very, very true. Swapping ends at half time at Lewes and losing the last game of the season at Bath spring to mind.

Beautiful irony that The Spireites first game in the dungeon is at the same place that ours was.

Big Boxing Day/New Years Day double header with Solihull Moors

It will be interesting how many they will take to Kent for the first match. We took 426 in a total crowd of 1872.

You can bet that if they take more than 426, then Chumpta will be on claiming they are a bigger club than us.

Had a nice chat with a friendly Gashead (thankfully as he was a big unit) during the England game last night & he said that relegation ultimately did Brizzle a massive favour in the long run & although our turnaround took longer we are in better fettle now than I can ever remember.

I just hope the same isn't true for them blue nosed shitbags.

Although Bristol Rovers bettered themselves through the experience, this is not the norm. There are plenty of ex-league clubs who won't be back anytime in the near future such as Darlington, Stockport, York , Torquay etc. Other teams such as Luton took years to steady the ship and start the long road to recovery. Wrexham went down with us and are stilll in the hellhole that is non league.[

Some of those clubs were in better shape than the sheep when they dropped and still there was no magic wand. I do think they have appointed a good manager but unless large numbers of fans back the club through the turnstiles, I feel their stay may be longer and even deeper than ours. I'm looking forward to Alfreton turning them over in the league in the next two or three years.

As a gesture of good will, Chesterfield have offered trials and hospitality to the young football team trapped in a Thailand cave.

The boys have said they’re happy where they are....

Bookies have them second favourites behind Salford City, surely that can’t be correct

On paper I agree with most of the top 7 or 8 teams on that list....

However we've been there n the 1st n 2nd season the so call lesser teams raise their game their not bothered what football league you've had your in their pond their rules n they want bragging rights for the next 100 years..

If Chesterfield finish around 11th they've had a decent 1st season finding their feet in the pit of misery
