Giles Coke

Can DF be so desperate for a creative midfielder he is seriously considering Gikes Coke.

Good player when fit but CLEARLY he has not been such for the last couple of seasons.

We won't be signing Coke lol - he's probably just training with us.

(I would be slightly concerned if we did sign him mind)

How about giving the guy a chance before writing him off.

If fit, he would be quality at this level.

Wouldn't that be a bit too obvious Musings? Nothing like a bit of condemnation. He obviously has talents and perhaps, just perhaps his injury worries are over.

Possibly, or maybe the club has let Coke just come and train with us till he gets fit. Even so, not like we're in the habit of taking on players who aren't match fit but may have potential like Miller, Hemmings or Kee? ;)

If we are considering him, i guess it depends on if he can get Coke motivated and fit - 6 weeks would go a long way to getting him match sharp. Perhaps it's desperate, or perhaps it's a shrewd buy given our spending budget is still taken up by some of last seasons transfer listed players. He could potentially be a bargain, assuming it all comes good. My only worry is he doesn't seem to have settled in the past 5 years, but i'm sure DF will take that into account

I think JR is now very wary about signing players who have a history of being injured.

I would have thought the position is pretty clear as explained by DF - he hasn’t got a club and asked to train with us

He is probably v talented if fit - DF has said we will look at him. Can’t see much wrong in that

But still the serial whiners whine

it just wouldn't be stagsnet if we didn't write off every signing as rubbish before they'd even kicked a ball for us, the famous stagsnet managers

So let me get this right, for weeks the manager gets stick for giving no information out.

Then a former player asks if (at no cost to us) he can get fit by training with us.

The manager says yes, and the manager let's us know the circumstances, namely that he has asked to get fit with us, and that knowing his pedigree he is going to monitor his progress, attitude etc.

The manager gets stick.

Wonder why he's been so quiet? Could someone help me out.

A fully fit Giles Coke is a no brainer to sign in L2 it is just that simple.

The big IF is the fully fit part. Now you can level many things at our manager but if you are not fully fit it just will not happen. There is no harm in what is happening.

No stick for DF, I did say a good signing, IF FIT.

Just can't see him being fit at his age having been unfit for tge last two years.

Apologies for the pedantry OWS, but i think your previous comments about DF made the "Can DF be so desperate for a creative midfielder" seem overly cynical? I'm sure it's not, but perhaps you can understand why fans might comment

I’ll echo what many others have said on here, it feels like we’re doing this in the right manner and if it works it works and he’ll sign if not good luck to the guy.

So DF should tell him to sling his hook and say I can't have you training with us?

It happens at all clubs. They help unattached players try and regain fitness.

The club havn't announced him as a signing. If it wasn't for a couple of eagle eyed supporters we wouldn't know Coke was in the building.

Hope Coke's not going to Portugal if he's not signed. If he wants to get fit he can do some seshs at Brooksby with the YT.

I’m just saying he should not be signed, stop being so Mardy and making a meal out of nothing.

It was actually confirmed by Flitcroft at his press conference.
