I can't see the council dragging their feet especially with Ben Bradley making friends within the government every time he posts on Facebook he's done more to put Mansfield on the map in the last 9 months than meal ticket did in 30 years.

Hotel application has nothing, whatsoever, to do with Ben Bradley MP.

Yes, he talks things up and that's not a bad thing, something we Mansfield folks had not experienced from an MP in the past.

As for Ben Bradley influencing the MDC Planning Committee, no chance. Any decision will be made on the report put before the committee by trained planning officers, in the past applications by the football club have been examined thoroughly and the go ahead given. If you remember, there was an application for a leisure centre at the One Call Stadium and of course the training complex on Woburn Road.

Is the plan going to be for the kids sides to go up there and train midweek so that the 3G pitches at Field Mill can be booked by joe public again?

Doesn't it all help to put the pride back in to being a Stag again?

Sorry woody..

In my working life with planning officers they are good people and professional.

If politicians/local councillors get involved then they presumably have a mandate to make their own and sway decisions lets not forget.

Dont know why they say they expect planning to take 6-8 months. Should be 13 weeks max, plus a committee meeting. If they really wanted to crack on they could have signed a PPA.

Ive also checked the plans on MDC websits. Looks great. VERY happy the club shop will be relocated and the ticket office will be expanded in to the current shop. We need more ticket sales/collection points and badly need a new shop.

1 question; what stops people watching the match for free from the viewing gallery in the hotel and not paying for entry?
You've got to go there and come back, to know where you've been.

Old West Stander - if you see this, please do comment on the below link. It seems MDC has been placed firmly on the Government's naughty step.

Hi AWC,

Yes, I read the letter with interest and although I disagree with the Secretary of State's view I do agree that the finalising of Mansfield's Local Plan has been long and drawn out, due to reasons the Secretary of State is well aware of.
It's probably a much needed shot across the bows of the councils officer hierarchy. The Local Plan is not a political football or a polititions decision and I see from the letter that the current timetable has to be met and adhered too, or else?
My view is that as a council we have consulted the public far too often, it seems that every minor change to the draft Local Plan has gone out to consultation, a belt and braces attitude which largely stems from failures by other local authorities at the government inspection stage. I trust we will now cease asking and get doing.

Sugary donuts and extra sweetened tea should get the councillors active enough to progress things. Just hope there isn't another cold spell or it's back into their straw boxes for another month ;)

He's right though. MDC, your local all waffle, zero performance council.

You could have included some of MDC"s achievements to prove how wrong Doomy was.

Oh no wait you did include all their achievements and proved him right.
