A proper footballer, hard as nails but could play, one of the best performances I ever saw was when he had to drop into midfield in a cup tie at the mill and he was a revelation, a true gent, r.i.p.kev

RIP Kevin. He was before my time but my mum always used to sing the Kevin Bird song to me. Reading about him he was obviously one of the most important players in the clubs history.

RIP Kevin. Legend gets bandied about a lot in footall circles, but he was just that an absolute legend and a thoroughly nice man with it.

Such sad news. Club legend and such a lovely guy. The greatest defender ive seen at the club.. Good scoring record for a defender.
Spoke to him on many occasions and his passion and love for the club was second to none.

A genuine legend of the club and integral part of the defence when we had our most successful period in the Club’s history.

RIP KB.

Heartbreaking to lose one of our own in such sad, sad circumstances and no real age either.

He will always be remembered as part of those mid seventies teams.
