Last time out I went to a pub called The Castle, up the hill towards the ground from Bradford Interchange. It was like a time machine. The prices , the drinks the interior, the lot.

Also went to a bouncing pub with a Thai kitchen, not sure I could find that place again.

Neither were Mansfield pubs.but they were both fun.

Last time there were a few in the Bradford Arms

Perhaps you went in the Peacock bar on North Parade ( at the city end of Manningham Lane) which sometimes does Thai as well as Indian and other food. There are several other bars/ pubs along there although apparently the Penny Bank wasn’t letting away fans in last time.
Slightly further away is the Fighting gooseberry and the Corn Dolly ( both traditional real ale pubs) and the City Vaults in the city centre.
Loads of other independent and chain pubs. If you really want Wetherspoons there is the Turls Green on Centenary Square near the Interchange station.

What a pub name.

You had shortened Cockerel, in half actual, which is why it changed to gooseberry.

We are enjoying a few beers in The Fighting gooseberry with Bradford fans where we went last season. Reinforcements have just arrived.

I’ve tried to express this for the last few days, but starting with Perch and Wallace in defence after two transfer windows isn’t good enough. Say what you like, but it’s a fact. Perch, Wallace, Quinn down the same side could spell disaster.

Nonetheless, I hope they both perform today and we play well and get a positive result,

The starting 11 may have improved but the depth simply hasn’t.

Harbottle is probably not at full fitness yet as if he was I’d assume he’d start over Perch. I also think both have been much better lately.

Quinn, Wallace and Perch on the left hand side. Hope they lack pace down that side.

Wallace battles which is admirable, always gives 100% - however I’m very concerned with him playing wing back - your wing backs need to be willing and able to get up and down and provide an attacking outlet… however Wallace barely crossed the half way line last week.

Apart from Clough, who has previous, who doesn't pick a fit Maris? Bizarre, but I expected it, he's such a negative manager at times.

On the last couple of performances, I’m happy with that 11. Perch has been much improved and Wallace has been solid ish at left back. There’s enough available to come on if needed from the bench and I’d rather go with that line up than risk a player who is carrying a knock. Admittedly we appear light on defenders but there’s nothing to stop us changing shape if necessary. I can see a win here.

Everyone’s been raving that we have sorted the defence throughout January - personally I just can’t agree with it. The stats on here have shown that our best 11 was never the problem, it was always the back up and today we are calling on them again. They need to step up today.
