Johnson, Reed, Kilgour and Dunn.
Quality January for us. Only disappointment for me is losing Lapslie but I hope Dunn will prove to be just as good in a similar role.

Top marks and you were spot on about Freeman as well, although we were never looking to offload JB unless he asked for a move.
Which is why I'm really surprised you get the odd bit of dodgy stuff so wrong.
Where did the Maddison and Marriott bolts from the blue come from?

Had we have sold DJ, I think there would have been more, probably a left back which we badly need.

just think it smacks of round peg square hole again, it’s the one area we just needed that bit of quality cover to go for our final play off push if Macca is injured

Genuine question: how many players for each position would you like us to have?

The way I see it is this (I may be wrong), so I think left back looks tight right now, but when fit we are covered:
Goalkeepers (3)Pym
Flinders
Mason
Right Back/RWB (2)Johnson
Hewitt
Can/have played right back at a pushAkins (I know)
Bowery (I know)
Centre Halves (5)Harbottle
Hewitt
Kilgour
Perch
O'Toole
Can play centre halfJohnson
Can/have played centre half at a pushMacca
Bowery (I know)
Left Back/LWB (2)Macca (potentially injured)
Page (probably injured)
Can play left back to a decent levelWallace
Can/have played left back at a pushBowery (I know)
Midfield (7/8)Maris
Clarke
Boateng
Reed
Quinn
Keillor Dunn
Wallace
Law (maybe going on loan)
Can play midfieldAkins
Bowery
Oates
Macca
O’Toole
Perch
Up Front (6/7)Oates
Swan
Keillor Dunn
Johnson
Akins
Bowery
Gale (maybe going on loan)

I'm afraid I agree with Dave. If we had a shoestring budget and had modest aspirations then the current squad size is fine. Even broomo has said he'd have liked one more, personally I'd have liked 2 but with Johnson returning maybe just the cover for Macca would have sufficed. Macca is of course injured and we will have a makaeshift LB/LWB at Bradford or will once again be forced to play Macca on one leg.
I do think it was a good window overall though, the squad is much better balanced now.

It wasn't a criticism (although now you're involved I might try and find one
), I think currently left back looks light but that's because of the injuries. Clough must know something we dont with the scope of the injuries to Macca and Page, as I'd imagine he would have brought someone in if Macca and Page were both going to be longer term, as he has done with Hartigan. I'm comfortable with Wallace there temporarily, but if Bowery ends up having to go there, then there's been an error.

I'm obviously not comfortable with Page or Wallace as options. Wallace showed how good he was in midfield but he's not anywhere near as effective at LB. I can't see a single argument against signing a left sided defender, we clearly need one as, sadly, we may discover on Saturday.
However, as I said above, I think the rest of the signings were bang on.
