So you think NC and his team don't plan ? Nothing could be further from the truth. It's about the availability of players, that are better than we already have and their affordability.Costastag wrote:Amber Andy wrote:It is all about availability.Costastag wrote:yorkstag wrote:He managed Man Utd not a league 2 club where you have to make the best use of resources.
By signing another midfielder in hartigan rather than a much needed centre half
Its also about planning ,listen im not saying Clough out or anything like ,but its been one of our failings this season ,anyway its only an opinion

So were there no others that were better than we already have?
It’s ridiculous to think that because one deal fell through no-one else was good enough or available. Centre back has been a problem for just about the entirety of Mr Clough’s tenure. The ones that were already on the books were shipped out and not replaced by players who were recognised in that position. At least two of those shipped out are currently playing regularly and doing well for their clubs which is more than can be said for the situation here.

Several deals fell through. No point in signing players who are no better than what we have.

Nah this is a lie he wasn’t interested at all, keep up!!

It was last January. Then the player chose to go to Stevenage in the summer.Rob wrote:Amber Andy wrote:Rob he planned to sign the Oldham centre back, but Oldham wouldn't let him come. The player is now doing very well at Stevenage.
I don't think that was this season Andy, which is what we are talking about. Costastag said the lack of planning was this season and I think he's right. No planning for cover at left back, no depth at centre back and whilst he identified the need for a forward, he failed to sign one. It was a poor transfer window which has left us having to play players consistently out of position.

Rest assured NC and his team will be looking for a centre half. He did of course bring Harbottle in.

Maybe now yes, but not in the summer. We were not talking about now, we were talking about the summer. I hope Clough has realised his blindingly obvious mistake.
I mean it's really simple Andy, Pete and Bobby, we need a centre back, probably two. We needed them last year too and it cost us promotion. It's good that it appears you now agree, better late than never I suppose.
