New ticket system

Postby Stags88 » Sat Aug 06, 2022 12:34 pm

Do we print the tickets off or use the email on our phones?

Or either?

Thanks.

Now quicker to crack a safe than get ticket recognised at new turnstile scanner! Huge queues forming around ground.

The ground can't cope with big crowds.

I like the game 'guess the distance' you have to at with the barcode scanner. :/
You've got to go there and come back, to know where you've been.

IGU queue was moving quickly, looked like chaos at QLE.

I used the QR code season ticket on the phone, and it took 2 seconds to get in, including turning the turnstile!

From the QLE I could see what looked like hundreds still queuing for the West Stand as the game started. Absolute shambles and unfortunately will be the same every week now unless something changes.

There's no excuse for not getting the 2nd set of turnstiles working in the QLE. Buy a few more scanners, job done.

We got to theground 2:30ish, the queue for QLE was nearly back to the gym, expected the same at IGU & was pleasantly surprised to find only about 20 or so in the queue.

Couple of people took a few attempts to scan their tickets, but we had no significant hold ups.

Me too. That is the advantage of using qr codes.
Have hard copy season tickets still got Barcodes rather than qr codes. If so then why ?

IGU at 14:00 - Only like to take my Apple Watch, and leave my iPhone at home. Tried the code from picture gallery on watch. Instant recognition. Through in seconds

Used a ST for IGL. It didn't work. Tried a dozen times. Guy on the turnstile had to get a [master pass] and said the system in place is "f-ing useless"

Queues today were a joke, even for those that got there early. Moaning at folk for getting there at 245

Most of the time that's down to the screen not being bright enough.

If you have a qr code you could screen shot it and then get it printed off. Might even make a keyring out of it.

I did take the precaution of magnifying the QR code on the screen before attempting the scan, and putting the screen on full brightness.
I must say that I've never seen a scan so fast. The lock was open before I was sure that I had the phone in position, almost as if the turnstile was open before I presented the code.
The odd thing today was the massive discrepancy between the attendance announcement and the official attendance, which was about 1800 more.

I was told at full time this was simply an error, which was realised shortly after the announcement, but presumably someone decided not to do a re-announcement and instead correct it on social media later.

It's a numbers game and the QLE needs more gates.

Say 1500 fans try to get in between 2.15 and 3pm. There's 4 turnstiles, so 375 each or 8.3 people per minute. One person every 7 seconds.

Then add in that most arrive before 2.45 and you see the problem. People saying they got in fine are still surely taking 4/5 seconds to get in, scan, push through the gate. Only takes the odd rescan or slow coach and people miss KO.

Even if they told everyone to arrive between 2 and 2.15 it would still take those who arrive last 30+ mins to get in.

Martin - I know you said recently that our capacity in the home stands is effectively about 6,900 as that's what we got for the Forest Green game at the end of last season, which was made all ticket and sold out.

What percentage extra does making a game all ticket allow us to sell? For example, if we're only allowed to sell 90% of capacity without making a game all ticket, that would be 6,210 home fans out of 6,900.

If today's attendance has been given as 7,128 with 621 away fans, that's 6,507 home fans which, if the 90% example happens to be correct, wouldn't be allowed.

I don't for one second believe the attendance was actually 7,128, from looking around today, but could be wrong.

Looking at the clips of the game on ITV 4 there is absolutely no way was the attendance 7,100. Somethings gone wrong somewhere

I really wish everyone would queue up between 2 - 2.30pm. that way there would be no issues.

I've asked a question or two about the attendance. Hopefully be in a position to clarify in the week
