I assume these are not some kids in their bedroom making up transfer rumour tweets.

Anyone know anything about him? I know Clough said he'd like a number 10 to play behind the strikers but I know nothing of what kind of midfielder he is.

He’s obviously playing a long way behind because he’s scored 1 goal in 118 games.

That's what I thought too, assumed he would have been a defensive mid. Or a bad attacking mid

Apparently championship teams were/are looking at him so he at least sounds promising. And has good experience of lower league football at a young age

Well there’s one thing for sure.. we’ll never be caught short for options in midfield

We’ll probably start Hartigan, Boateng and Quinn, and then we’ll have Lapslie, Maris and Clarke on the bench. And if we burn through that lot we will have Wallace and Law coming back. And if we need a ninth option we can always put JJ back in there

From reading a few reports it sounds as though Hartigan is quite good technically and he’s obviously played a lot of games above our level so hopefully he turns out to be a very good signing if it materialises. Whether he’s what this squad needs for the much alluded to ‘19th spot’ I don’t know, I’d say not but time will tell!

A great signing on paper. But another midfielder?! Unless we’ve got one going out I do not understand how Nigel can justify this over a CB or a ST.

Played 81 games at CM scoring 1 goal and assisting 9, 44 games as DM scoring 4 and assisting 5. 2 games as AM assisting 1 scoring 0. 1 game at RW and 1 game at LW neither assisting or scoring.

Similar record as Maris.

Means we’ll have Maris and him competing for DM

Boeteng and Lapslie for RCM

Quinn and Clarke got LCM

Good options.

According to the Preston website he is a holding midfielder and would be in direct competition with Ben Whiteman. They expect him to go to either Blackpool or Rotherham and play in the Championship on a regular basis.

If that’s correct I would expect probably Maris or possibly Clarke to be the departing player.

Will happily take him as long as this is not the final piece of the jigsaw. I don’t know much about him but he’s been linked with clubs who usually do good business.

If we’re spending the last of our budget on him when other areas are more in need of upgrades it seems a bit daft.

I think one midfielder will be going, Clarke, Maris or Lapslie.

Wimbledon fans on Twitter don’t seem to rate him much. Seen a lot of them saying he’s very slow, which will suit us well!

Asked a mate of mine who’s Wimbledon home and away. He says he’s come through the ranks, decent player who should serve us well. I asked what his game was, passer, tackler etc. My mate said he’s more of a passer, not a bulky player.

Whatever, he’s played a lot of games at a decent level for a 22 year old.

I just don't get it at all, we clearly need a striker and a centre half.

This surely spells the end for one of our midfielders?

And we have to be in for another player too?

I'll be happy with this signing as its clearly an upgrade in midfield.
Just because we need players in other areas doesn't mean you pass on improving areas you think are ok.

JR backs the manager yet again as this deal.wont be cheap I imagine.
These are my opinions , if you don't like them I have others...

Clough has changed his tune since McGeouch was around. We didn't need any more midfielders then. However, in his last two or three interviews, he's hinted at one of them going out.
