Swan is not the replacement for Johnson, we will sign another striker.

People making out like we've let flipping Mbappe go.

Swan currently IS the replacement for Johnson.
Regardless of opinions on Johnson leaving, Swan in his first League 2 game looked totally out of his depth.

Has it stands Swan is starting which is more than DJ got under Clough even when fit , we’ve had all summer to address our weaknesses from
Last season and still it’s there for all to see .

Hot take - Johnson won't score more than 10 before December.

That’s not true is it?

DJ started last season as first choice striker but lost his place.

At the time there were many in here saying that he wasn’t good enough.

Some people don’t want to except it even when it’s there for all to see , we’ve replaced a Proven goal scorer in L4 with a kid with little mens football experience..

He’s got 18 league games and 4 cup games to score 7 goals, wouldn’t bet against that.

He was a disappointment for us last season in league 2. Good luck to him. We may even get our money back if he keeps up this form.

How can you be a disappointment when you're never played?

Nine league starts, two goals, one pen, one open net. Clough expected him to be a striker who needed few chances to score and he didn’t turn out to be that whilst here.

Just seen his goals on the new ITV highlights show.

Looks like he can finish to me

Hope that adds a zero or two onto his price tag.

Maybe Nigel needs to remember the wise words of his Dad , when he bought Trevor Francis for a few Bob
10 minutes into his 1st game Trevor was running round like a headless chicken and Brian shouted to him , I didn't pay a Million £ for you to run around, I payed it for you to score GOALS! get in the box

Don’t get the “he doesn’t suit our style” rubbish. If you go out and get a decent striker, you adjust your set up to suit the striker.

My best guess is Clough wants to build a side that works hard for each other. Holding the ball up bringing others into play etc. DJ just wants to score goals.

Yeah we've adjusted our formation for the players we've got, but couldn't find a place for both him and Oates.

We also reverted to wingbacks and we let Okeefe go who was also out.on loan and was his new teams best player, and got a L1 team.

He also never got a chance and is a player who seemingly was better than what we've got in his position.
You've got to go there and come back, to know where you've been.

That's the only thing I can think of that makes a modicum of sense. Clough wants good hard working honest lads who will do as and play where they are told.

I’m not out to criticise Clough , he knows more about football than any of us but he was the one who signed Danny Johnson wasn’t he ? Never gave him a chance to establish himself in the team. I hope he goes on to score 20 plus
