Usually if a player is off, they request not to play in case they do pick up an injury.
It's rare these days players have loyalty to a club for a goodbye game.
They only think about themselves and their self-preservation.

Not saying he is one of those players as I don't know him, but I'd say it is far more likely that if he is playing, he is staying.
