We do need new centre backs. We have 1 permanent CB, 2 that are barely fit and temporary. We've 2 RB at the club (1 injured long term and 1 our only available right back)
Arguably our best forward is having to cover. If Hawkins was a backup forward then it'd be something selse. You cannot count a 1st team regular in the tally for another position. JJ is up in the air contract wise. There's the "7 CB at the club"

We need another CB because we have had 2 out injured (not including perch) and I'd like someone to tell me what the defence would look like had we not signed O'Toole.

Au contraire Rob, one poster says we have 7 (seven) centre backs?

We do, ive listed them previously. We don't have that many fit however... you need the ones you have fit rather than signing even more, thats just daft but its some on here's transfer plan sent it... sign endless amounts of players until they are happy. Fair enough if they are long term but theyre not.

With Forrester and Nartey's recent records with injury though I would replace both of them if there are more reliable options, as Ive said before, but you'd rather have a weak dig

Good for you. Do you report the ones that call my username things that are pejorative ?
do you need a tissue ?

Nope, why should I report abuse against you, that's clearly up to you? Each time you post unprovoked abusive messages to me I am going to report it. If you don't stop I'm sure you'll be banned again. If you behave like a child expect to be treated like one.

I’m not behaving like a child though. I’m responding in kind to the tone of your messages which are dismissive and also arrogant. I’ll respond in kind then. Next time you call someone an idiot etc. I don’t mind. You seem to like to dish it but don’t like it back. You’ve always been like that.

 You cant go on a single thread without having a paddy or attacking people and its NEVER your fault is it... "don't like it back" You're describing yourself down to a tee. You can be utterly proven to be in the wrong by multiple people and wont ever admit otherwise. Its not rocket science to see why you keep getting banned.

Get to a game sometime and use some of your pent up energy for good ey

But if he's failed his medical then we can do ala Forrester and sign him and have him play a couple of games late April when he's fit... can't we?

I imagine if he’s failed a medical it’s more of an underlying issue that the club aren’t satisfied will be resolved in the time we need him.

I still don't think we need another striker...or Midfielder..centre half please...then we can release Hawkins to move upfront..its not rocket science...

You do know they're in a higher division than the Stags and have been for some time, don't you?

Quinn was a Burton reject, so was O'Toole.

It would now seems be more accurate
to call him a Mansfield reject :)

I don’t think Hawkins would get much game time up top due to our style of play with the front players pressing he’s more of a route one plan B striker for me . I can see NC shoe horning him to the side at CB for the rest of the season which also gives you a great asset at set pieces .
Another mobile striker makes sense when Bowery or Oates are blowing out their back sides .

I would choose Hawkins ahead of Bowery any day

Is Kieran Wallace the player we are likely to sign on a short term contract? His contract is up at Burton at the end of the season. A short term contract may allow the club to check any medical issues.

On the other hand, is it a player who is currently out of contract?

Generally I'd say short term deal but I think we've got enough problems with injuries and suspensions (Faz banned for 1 game and Hawkins 1 away from 2 games) at the back already without another player who failed a medical. Players get injured all the time, I get that, but this just seems to be asking for trouble.

Having said that though we've a week or so until the window shuts and there may not be options out there. We have 2 loans available to use (Forrester and Shelvey have gone back, Forrester didn't get good news but maybe we still are looking the that situation) so 1 for Wallace could be an option.

It seems pretty obvious that, if anything, we need a back-up centre half.

Up front we have Akins, Bowery, Hawkins, Johnson, Oates (and maybe Gale and Sinclair) and I may even have forgotten someone.

At CH we have Hawkins (a converted CF, one away from a suspension as mentioned above), Rawson (suspended for the next game) and O'Toole (a converted midfielder although maybe this is now his natural slot). Perch is still out, Hewitt doesn't seem right for that spot, Nartey is unproven based on what we have seen and it looks like Forrester has gone back.
