Big well done to Maris for diving face first and blocking their effort, would have put them 1-0 and have been a very different game. He’s been absolutely brilliant these past few games.

Another excellent win against dogged opponents whom packed the midfield to stop our passing game and it looked like it might work at one stage.

I'm going to shock you all and give MOM to Jordan Bowery closely followed by George Maris.

We're really putting our bodies on the line now to block everything thrown at us.

Well done Stags

P.S. it seems the one having digs today actually go to a lot less games than Belly but shout just as loud ;)

Liked the look of Gale. Doesn't seem a million miles off, how old is?

Looking at his date of birth on that he don't look bad for 121 years old  I know age is just a number but surely that's too old?

He’s 20

I would have put Law on as well.Clough obviously knows more about football than I do.Pleased for Charsley as well.He may get a run in the side now.Clarke does not do it for me.

Charsley was excellent today.

Thats probably been our poorest performance in a while, we never seemed to properly click into gear, but even so with cooler finishing we could have won at a canter.
Facts do not cease to exist because they are ignored.

Thought we were much more comfortable second half. Wouldn’t be surprised if we stick with that for Tuesday given the threat FGR’s wide men carry.

Agreed. Question is what do we do if O’Toole has left/definitely leaving and isn’t selected? Nartey? Or change what worked second half and put Hawkins back in at centre back (I’d prefer not to do that, if we don’t use Nartey when we’re short at the back then there’s no point in having him). Hopefully O’Toole does play.

Clough said after the game that Stirk tested positive on Wednesday for Covid so there’s a decent chance he’ll be available on Tuesday.

Great to keep a clean sheet against a decent side. Was great to have Rawson back, a proper no nonsense defender. Bowery and Maris, as Parky says, were our best two, for me Maris just pinched it for his normal brilliant midfield performance and that block that was so important. Great to win when not quite at our best. We'll done all!

We have the 2nd best Home Record in League 2 so far this season
We have played between 2 - 4 more games at home than other teams though

We have the 22nd best away record

Need to alter that to stay in contention !!

Mansfield 15 9 3 3 25 17 +8 30
Mansfield 9 2 2 5 7 13 -6 8

I don’t think we were fortunate, had more chances and the only real bit of quality in the game that resulted in anything was our second.

Yes, Garner had a massive go at Quinn for his backwards header that went straight to Walsall player and a loose flick about two minutes later. Quinn didn't take kindly to it and so at the next free kick walked over to Garner shouting "Oi, that's Bo llo cks" Before they started shouting at each other

I thought Faz did very well to calmly stand between them whilst completely ignoring them both.

Despite the fact the Garner is twice his size, I'd still back Quinn in a scrap between them

I would not swop Maris for any other league 2 player. Great engine 100% commitment and can play a bit as well. My man of the match today closely followed by Bowery who was vertually unplayable in the 2nd half. Also a mention to JJ who again was 100% committed despite having an uncertain future did not hide or go missing. Another 3 points, well done all

I'd give the award to Bishop. Had it not been for a couple of brilliant saves we'd be having a post mortem on what went wrong and whether we're good enough to make the playoffs. Although the players you mention deserve every accolade.

It's a great testament to this team that whenever the MOM is discussed so many different players are mentioned.
What I like about this team is that we are not relying on one player. Each game several different players suddenly step up.
(And even today, whilst not being a MOM contender, fringe player, forgotten man, Harry Charlsley comes on and scores a brace).
That is the mark of a good squad. (Defence cover still needs sorting for a promotion push though ;)

Agree entirely, it is a weirdly pleasing thing that there are so many players in the goals rather than someone on 15 by now (although I wouldn't complain if it was the case :D )
