Hartley Paul

Wasn't it their CB pairing a couple of years ago that was called Hartley and Poole? Starting to think they do it on purpose

Yes both scored against Notts County when i was doing a game there, made me quite a few quid that did!

Seen that photo so many times it's brilliant, Peter Hartley and James Poole wasn't it

Has Appleton ever achieved anything of note? He seems to get jobs quite easily based on his reputation as a good coach, but I can't remember ever being blown away by how any of his sides play, nor remember many promotions on his CV.

Appleton got Oxford promoted out of league two, they finished second in his second season in charge. They also got to the league cup final twice in a row but lost twice and got Oxford to 8th in league one.

He's not universally liked in football

He’s only had two proper jobs when you look at the disaster clubs he’s managed.

Took Lincoln to the play-off final and did very well at Oxford. If Clough is considered to have done a good job here last season then I don’t see how you can see Appleton didn’t do a good one at Lincoln with less of a budget.

Last managed Chatham Town of the

They’re done for next season with an appointment like that and McKirdy leaving, they’ll be lucky to get top half.

Swindon haven’t got the money to turn down any decent bids, only a matter of time.

Do you know who he slapped? Surely it wasn’t our ex-mp or is it a suggestion you’re making?

Birmingham sacked Lee Bowyer. Any chance of Stirk returning to Stags now ?

Hardly a hold up type number 10 though, Cloughie seems to be wanting that type of front man

Don't get this love affair with Stirk. ....the number of games he played really well in could be counted on one hand and too often he was invisible in midfield and purely a safety first player.

Me neither Chris..

He certainly split opinions amongst our lot...

Gave the ball away too much as a DM for me and nowhere near creative enough or enough goal output to play further advanced..

Boateng is a massive improvement on him for me.
These are my opinions , if you don't like them I have others...
