The O's Score Thread Sponsored By Iyseden Christie...

Postby Beyond The Pale » Mon Sep 20, 2021 11:01 am

Well, I almost pulled it off last Saturday, so if it's okay, i'll have another go.

I feel that it's a tougher proposition this Saturday though, but I can see us being slightly unfortunate to lose 1-2. Danny Johnson to notch once again for the Amber & Blue. It's another place that we ever seem to get very much.

Favourite Issy Christie memories in addition to your prediction if you like?

For me, the day he ran Hull City ragged & scored a brilliant goal in a 2-0 win. 1998 I think?
I backed my car into a cop car the other day, he just drove off, sometimes life's okay...

1 0 to the stags with DJ netting the winner, for once one of our players will do to his ex-club twhat so many of our ex-players do to us.

Notts County away when he was a good 10 yards off-side

What a player though - I think his first 2 games after he signed permanently were everything about him. Scored against Hull in a 2-0 win, I remember Hull filled the Quarry Lane end pretty adamant that they'd walk the league with Mark Hateley, it was Steve Whitehalls first game too, then Isyeden got sent off 10 mins from the end. Then the following midweek game he scored a hat-trick in about a minute against Stockport in the Cup. He was capable of anything

Hoping for a clean sheet but I'll take a 2-1 win.

As for Iyseden, the only player labelled the laziest on the pitch but also one of the best.

It could mean Hawkins at the back with Rawson, was reading about him playing there and he enjoyed it but made 2 mistakes in one game and was never played there again.
He was annoyed because he only lost 3 games out of 16 previously and wanted a run at it, he held his hands up to the mistakes but said it was inevitable without the experience.
He also said its better playing at the back because it's less pressure from the fans than being up front :o

How tall is Bowery, Hawkins is 6'6" I think.

A famous myth.
County defender headed it on so was never offside.

Yeah it's like a few season back with the penalty. They were saying it wasn't a penalty because he was stood just outside the area. But he stuck his arm out to block the cross into the area. They aren't the most knowledgeable fan base are they?

It's like with Hewitt, managers have spent money on him in the past as a right back but County fans reckon he's crap there so we can't entertain the idea of playing him right back. Even though he scored an 8 from Martin and got a goal (in a 1-1 draw) against Colchester. His next game he had a mare but he also recieved no support at all from Clarke and was frequently in a 1v2 situation, and could have scored but for a great reaction save from the keeper. He's had 2 games there one every good and one very bad then we wouldn't entertain the idea. He's a better right back than Gordon.

This is getting crazy now, two more injuries Stirk and Gordon, we are threadbare. Surely Clough has to bring in at least one free agent. I think we are going to limp towards January and be thankful for any points that come our way.
