I firmly believe that if our form from the first 3 games had extended into the last 4, this rumour would have some traction. I just can't see it now however....1. Nigel stepping back from a project he's only just started, 2. Our Board supporting it, 3. Forest actually thinking he's the right man for them at the moment...

Fortunately, it's a terrible time to become Forest manager, he'd be unemployed in 6 months

Forest have everything in an owner which you’d desperately want to avoid.

They’re rotten to the core and a new manager is like putting a plaster on a broken knee.

Any manager with any sense would swerve it, clough already fell into that trap at derby, i’m sure he’s sensible enough to avoid the same fate

Depends how big the payout is, some manager would be going there thinking 6 months work and a big payout is easy money.

In seriousness they won’t be interested in a manager with a team in 21st in league 2.

More importantly neither would their fans.

Maybe go for the "million pound manager" the other side of the M1. :D

I can see more Cheaterfield fans concerned, than ours, at the prospect of losing their manager.

Steve Cooper favourite for the Forest job, with Wilder and John Terry in the running, Clough has a job here and has only just begun to move forward with it, and after having set backs during the transfer window, The club need to move forward in their quest for a promotion push.

Wilder and Terry red herrings according to the press.

Forest is an impossible job. Players being mysteriously brought in by persons unknown. An absent owner with fingers in multiple pies, a large, overpaid squad of dubious quality and a vocal, disgruntled fan base who still think they should be in the Champions League. The job will go to someone who needs the work...

Nigel won’t go to Forest because of the way they treated his dad

Maybe they will nab the PE Teacher from 100 yards away. He could go from 1 club that thinks they have a divine right to be much higher, to another.

Water under the bridge.

He won't go to Forest now because their Board are a joke and he's just taken a job here that he'll want to see through (given the time and opportunity)

Plus their current owners don't fancy him, no matter if we were sitting pretty 6 points clear at the top, never mind sitting precariously in 21st.

Forest is and always will be his dream job but I think when he turned them down when Fawaz was in charge and NC at Burton that the opportunity has probably gone.

A manager will eventually crack it there but I don't think it will be Nige.

Sad to see Houghton go.

When will a club have the balls to stick with the manager they chose... 27 managers in 17 years is it now for forest? When will they realise it's not the manager

The good news many can travel up the road to see a football club like they had once.

I think it's closer to 15 years, but then again, i don't know how long their manager 27 managers ago, lasted.
Is it time for them to elevate another adequate ex player to "legendary" status so they can give them the job or are they ready to start the resurrection process of their ever present god Brian? Either way, it's a beautiful little roller coaster we're all going to go on together :D

Here's my wild prediction. Feel free to laugh at me.

Mansfield sneak 3rd place on the final day of the season.

Forest slip into the relegation zone on the final day of the season.
