I think any team down to 13th would fancy their chances at making the playoffs.

Orient in 14th will probably see their game against us almost as a must win if they are wanting to get involved.

Think Orient will put in a better performance than that on Saturday.

Scunthorpe United 2 Bristol Rovers 3
Attendance: 2,403

Had a ride over to Glanford Park.

Brizzle took the lead on 35 minutes when Sam Nicholson jinked into the area on the left past Emmanuel Onariase and laid it back to Josh Grant to score. Nicholson then missed a glorious chance to make it 2-0 after being played in by Aaron Collins. Sam Finley then dragged a shot wide before Rory Watson pushed his 25 yard shot away for a corner. HT: 0-1

Tyrese Sinclair came on as a 58th sub and initially played on the left before drifting into the centre. He struggled to get into the game. Anthony Evans was tripped by George Taft in the area and he scored a penalty to make it 2-0. Aaron Collins missed two great chances to make it 3-0. In the 76th minute Tyrese cleared a ball up in the air on the edge of the area and ran on to control it as it came down and played a great ball down the left to set up to Lewis for the Irons to win a corner which they immediately wasted by messing up a short corner. Leon Clarke finally made it 3-0 when he got in behind Onariase and Taft to run on to a Luke Thomas pass and round Watson in the Scunny goal. Poor defending again by the Scunthorpe centre halfs. Rovers were strolling it and could get out their pipes and slippers. They could have been 5-0 up at this stage and the Gasheads were singing "How raspberries must you be, we're winning away" and “Can we play you every week”. However in the 89th minute Tyrese Sinclair whipped in a cross to the near post from the right that Sam Burns put in the net after Harry Wood’s initial effort had been saved. Tom Pugh then shot wide before Sam Burns (on loan from Blackburn) scored a second in injury time but it was all far too late.

Scunthorpe won 7 corners but did nothing with them. They must have one of the smallest forward lines in the league with Sam Burns, Harry Wood and Tyrese Sinclair. They had no chance in competing in the air against Connor Taylor (another young Stoke City centre half), James Connolly and Nick Anderton in Bristol’s defence.

Bristol MOM: Sam Nicholson and Josh Grant
Scunthorpe MOM: Sam Burns

A win for us tonight and any dropped points from:

Swindon (Crawley H) unlikely
Northampton (Barrow H) unlikely
Port Vale (FGR H) high chance

Would be nice to cut adrift any sides just outside the playoffs.

Crawley winning! Beating Swindon away.
You've got to go there and come back, to know where you've been.

Not necessarily the right thread for his but the Not The Top 20 pod lads have their own Sky Sports show tonight at 6pm, picking out 21 of the best U21 players in the EFL.

Wonder when we last had a player that would make that sort of list? Ben Whiteman? Tom Naylor (I know we weren’t EFL then).

Both Baptiste and LeeRoy played in the premier league, cannot think of anyone since that last great team.

Oh I didn’t realise that’s what it was! Assumed it was just best young players in each league.
