Very comfortable run out for our reserves tonight. Good to see Ty, Jimmy, Caine, Law and co all put in a solid, professional performance. Bowery did well at CB and Corey was fine off the bench.

Basford is a nice little ground. Friendly folk, good pale ale, average chips.

We need to start Tyrese Sinclair but he does not get a mention.

Sinclair is a very exciting prospect and I think he will make a good impact off the bench initially next season.

It’s nice that we are going to have much more depth next season. Say the starting XI is the same as Coventry (for the sake of the post), we’d have Shelvey, Gordon, Oates, Sinclair, Bowery, Stirk, Burke, Charsley, and probably a new centre back as the main ones fighting for place on the bench if everybody is fit. Much better position to be in and doesn’t feel excessive by any means - got a good sized squad almost complete there.

Sinclair is developing very nicely, . Think the club are a long way from needing to start him at the moment. Best prospect since Jack Thomas .

We don’t need to start him because we’re desperate, we need to start him because he is an exceptional talent.

He did well when given starts at the end of last season and if he was a Clough signing wouldn’t be losing his place in the team.

As for who? It’s tough to say I just think we need to find a space for him. He is that good. He has so much more to his game then Jack Thomas ever did.

His only position for me in NC formation would be the tip of the diamond.
That position is currently Lapslies with Oats as back up as he's played there pre season.

Cant see Tyrese starting over these 2 unless Laps and a forward are injured so Oates starts up top and Tyrese in behind.

Good options to have though aint it ?
These are my opinions , if you don't like them I have others...

Jimmy Knowles disappointing tonight and nowhere near getting on bench never mind starting even though he was trying hard, perhaps trying too hard.

Caine looks a better prospect on tonight’s showing.

Caine looked excellent. Jimmy seemed off the pace for a lot of the game but did put in a nice cross for Caine's goal.

Thought it was a shot at goal and not a cross.

Agreed mate, the only other way I think would be if we played 4-3-3 with Oates and Sinclair either side of Johnson. Meaning Hawkins drops to the bench.

Plenty of options like you said

He’s already played successfully as one of the front two in the diamond so he’s also an option there.

True true, crazy the difference in options we have now compared to last season.

we didn't film it. However I think Basford did so there will probably be highlights from them.

Basford looked a poor team, or did we make them look poor?
