I've asked this before but didn't get a reply (and I can't get through to the ticket office!)

Do barcodes on tickets work on phones yet? Or do I still have to print them out? Cheers!

You need to print I believe.

From the FAQ's : 'I don't have a printer!
Oh dear.. we're sorry but you will need to contact us to obtain a copy of your ticket and you will be able to collect it at the grounds.
Please note that this does incur an administration fee.'

Assume if you didn't need to print, it would make sense for it to be stated here

Tell me about it. Before I had a season ticket I had to pop round to the Mother-in-Laws every week to print!

I'd have gone to watch bowls instead.

Why can't you use your phone? Just turn the brightness down if it doesn't scan.

I’m not an IT expert by any stretch of the imagination but surely a QR code reader should read a code regardless of whether it’s on paper or a phone screen.

I’m not going tomorrow but perhaps some kind hearted Stagsnetter could try their phone first, and if it doesn’t work, fall back on their paper copy. Just a thought.

The downloaded image of the ticket says it has to be printed. Not sure why but that’s the instruction

The club could make some money out of this , if they charged the phone app guys a fiver for printing out their ticket on match day.

They do, they charge an admin fee. No idea how much though.

Is the slot for the ticket deep enough to fit a phone in ?

It’s not a slot, just a sensor that you hold it up to (unless they’ve got a new system!)

The latest update appears to suggest you can use your phone

I picked my ticket up from the Hull ticket office, in the queue were a dozen or so Hull fans with printed tickets that didn't work. It's not just us.

You know what they are like in Hull, print one-off and then photo copy a dozen.

No wonder the copies will not work.

Wonder if there will be any restrictions on away fans? If not, i think Bristol Rovers will sell it out tbh.

There should not be any restrictions on the Bristol Rovers fans, even the Manager made bail so he can come.

Hopefully we will give them a good allocation which I am confident they will easily sell, should be a cracking atmosphere

I can’t see any restrictions being in place and I expect a big turnout from them as it’s the first game of the season anyway which shows usually a good turnout and also the first attended away game for 18 months.

I think Newport may bring a few too.

Newport are not usually well supported, be impressive if Rovers sell out.

It's great to see that you can now use e-tickets rather than have to print them off, another improvement to make it easier for fans and improve the image for the club.
Unless I've missed it, this seems to have gone under the radar in terms of promoting it.
