Good ball by Ward to Clarke who runs into area and fires wide

No-one else needs to try to compete, this is the winning post tonight

Winning games breeds confidence whatever level you are playing at so don’t understand your post as we have lost the last 2 games and only beaten the mighty Retford . Maybe it’s a fitness workout and getting 90mins into some players ermmm ..

Possibly only 3 players who will play any part in the season

Rawson

Looked good very assured on the ball and competed with Ready which is never easy

Sinclair
Probably our best player in the game always looked a threat and took his goal well, could be a massive season for him

Bowery
Looked tired not surprisingly having missed a lot of pre-season, got several good shots on target, but you would argue he still looks like he will miss more chances than he takes

Non of the others look likely to be in the staring team certainly on that showing

Mention for young Cain took his chance excellently

I like the look of George Cooper, could be a player there.

Who was marking Tom Allan on the corner when he scored?

Just looked at Dan's great photos. It looks like Jordan Bowery was marking Tom Allen.

My thoughts exactly. A fully fit Rawson will be a regular first team starter , Bowery and Sinclair could push the regular front two for a place , but the amount of midfielders and rumoured new defender means the best most of the team tonight can aim for is being back up to the back up. Lots of potential but not there yet . Things are looking up though when our players of tomorrow can beat Alfretons current squad especially with Rhead trying to boss the kids .

We only came into the game after Alfreton made load of changes late in the second half.

I doubt we would have scored if Alfreton had kept their first team on the pitch for 90 minutes.

the good thing about these games is that you can learn as much about them in defeat as you can in victory,

Clough will have gained lots from the games against matlock and alfreton, he’ll probably already know his starting squad, more about what’s backing it up
