This has come out of the blue and is a massive surprise. Good luck Nathan.

The big question is whether he is No 1, No 2 or No 3 keeper?

Does that move De Gea up the pecking order?

He will link up with us after going on their pre season tour I imagine, he will play a few games for them which is good for us.

An interesting one and looking forward to seeing him play!

Fairly sure he’ll be No.1, can’t imagine United would opt for him to come here over the other interested clubs if he is going to be on the bench every week.

This answers your question...

Doesn't look like it, just the usual different colour on the keepers kit

It's a big gamble to make a young lad your No 1 keeper with only 30 league starts which were all for Southend. However Rod Arnold and Kevin Hitchcock did a great job for us; and Josh Griffiths did well at Cheltenham although he did drop the odd clanger.

Really is no more of a gamble than buying Stech last season, or Logan a couple of seasons before etc etc etc....

Dean Henderson didn't play a game before playing for Grimsby.

NC has signed young Goalkeepers from United before, he obviously trusts the coaches there, Just been reading about Bishop and he is rated very highly at United.

Even in there statement saying he had signed you can tell how highly thought of he is.

Oldham were apparently interested in the loan too.

What a refreshing interview, the lad is genuinely excited to be here, great to see.

Says he’s watched videos of games from last season and that he is going to be our number 1.

Seems like a great signing. If he's good enough for Man United he's good enough for Mansfield Town.

I'm becoming cautiously optimistic....
You've got to go there and come back, to know where you've been.

He has to go on tour with UTD, so that he can watch play , but be ready when called upon concentration will be key for our 2021/22 campaign

United aren’t going on tour anywhere. They’re playing two games at Old Trafford and two away, at Derby & QPR. They’re not going abroad so I’m not sure why he can’t come to us. Unless he’s playing for the U23’s.

seems a character from his interview on iFollow. Infectious enthusiasm. The interview confirms he has come as no.1 goalkeeper. He knows Stephen McLaughlin from Southend who told him this is a top place to be!

They’ve still got Lee Grant.
