[quote="lifestags"]Pleased with this signing, he was one of the better strikers last season, just listened to his interview and he seems very confident.[/

Confidence definitely does not seem to be an issue.

It was Magnum yesterday and today it's Crockett.
Did anybody have any idea we might sign or go for him, it's a shock to me but a very very welcome one.

I think Bowery could be, and would be an ideal partner for a goal poacher like Johnson.

I think Johnson is a good signing.

Still think we'll sign another striker

I think he is a good signing too!

Good signing. Has a proven record of being clinical at this level, which is what we missed last year. Well done Cloughie

Just looking through the lads career stats and everywhere he has been he’s had a similar goals per minute, 1 every 190ish. Very useful.

Two signings in and they appear to be exactly in the mould of what Broomo talked about when he joined the forum.
Neither a superstar, both from our league, one with a recent injury, and the other from a relegated team.
Johnson seems to be the style of player we were so clearly missing last season.
Excited about Johnson coming in

I did note at the end of the season that it was interesting that League 2 top scorers like Paul Mullin, Danny Johnson and Conor McAleny were out of contract as they would definitely receive plenty of offers. I didn't think the Stags had a chance of signing any of them as I thought they would be attracted by more cash from a bigger club. I did wonder though whether "The DJ" would be looking for a move back up North as he is from Middlesbrough. Really pleased with this signing.

I am also expecting better things from Jamie Reid next season

Reid will have to make a big impact off the bench for that to happen imo. With the signing of Johnson he’s 4th choice for me now and I expect another striker to sign yet.

Another signing of a player offered a contract by his club costing us no fee, this bodes well for the budget and his work rate on closing defenders down will not have gone unnoticed.
Naylor going to Wigan good luck there, i suppose they do have a pier , welcome to Danny Johnson to Mansfield.
Waiting for Akins now two mobile six footers with our midfield and a fox in the box looks promising.
Waiting for the final 4 pieces of the jigsaw- Goalkeeper- defender -midfield- striker
