You never know Dan, we signed Anderson, Mirfin and Diamond who whilst not technically dead in the water were in need of life support !!!!

And Akins and Brayford are one of Burtons highest earners, so maybe a reduction in wage budget benefits Burton.
Akins was never on the shortlist of players he wanted to start with so...

I thought he looked very shaky in the first half an hour or so but got better as the game went on.

I agree we probably need a centre back but this squad looks impressive and full of creativity.
I think we’ve moved way past the first 11 and back up - if players aren’t on it there is someone to take their place as it should be.
I can’t wait for the Bristol Rovers game- we can send out a real message to the league.
They will bring a big following. Can see a near 5000 att

I too thought he was a bit shaky early on.He played very well for the rest of the game.Ryan Stirk is a good signing as he can play in Quinns place if he tires.

Will probably end up being the most common substitute of the season!

Still concerned we are a big commanding CB missing to play along side Fazz, good defending is built on communication & partnerships, the closer we get to the start of the season the less time they will have together to gel is my only worry !!
last price required Cloughie

If we signed one of those, I don’t think he’d be playing alongside Faz.

Whoever was to come in as a centre back would have to be better than Perch and I can't see that happening but we do need additional cover in that department with Hewitt being the only other option we have.

I agree, NC clearly likes Perch there, hence playing Hewitt at RB when Gordon was injured. I've no problem with the defenders themselves, they are all good footballers, but I do think one more CB is needed for competition and depth.

Perch is the best CB at the club currently IMO. Given Rawson is 6ft 4, good in the air but suspect on the deck, I don’t think he’s likely to bring in a big commanding centre back to ply alongside Rawson when that is already his role.
I think the attributes of Rawson and Perch compliment each other pretty well.
