A bit harsh on Maris, the only player who has been consistently good all season. Perch and Laps haven't played as many games and Laps hasn't always been great.

I voted for George Maris. He started more league games (39), was more consistent over the whole season and gave us control in midfield at the base of the diamond to give us a platform to get forward. He also featured very high in most of the team stats.

Stephen Quinn was my top rated player but he had only played 21(2) league games.

Fair haired players tend to get noticed more and there was probably some ginger discrimination in the voting.

George Lapslie did have a good first season at the Stags.

It would be nice if another player won the SSA award.

my choice for player of the season was George Lapslie. Even though Stephen Quinn was my highest rated player, Lapslie (my 2nd highest rated) was in my opinion the player who contributed the most of any player to us avoiding relegation.

at the risk of stating the obvious, that doesn't mean that player contributed the most. It is rather more related to a player playing more games!

My player of the year was George Maris, played loads of games and was consistently good.

If Lapslie had played more I probably would of gone for him.

I was torn between Rawson (for his improvement) and Maris for his consistency. Although Lapslie has made a great start to his Stags career, I did not consider him due to lack of games. Its easier to shine in 20 games under a better manager than in 40 with many played under a struggling manager.

If XG was calibrated correctly Jordan Bowery would have been awarded best footballer at the club followed by Maris and Rawson .
