Sir Mal, thanks for all that you have given us over the years. Your consistency, hard work, quiet demeanor and the goals.

And for the way that Alex McDonald had tried to steal the limelight of Sir Mal day by having his birthday on the same date!!

Good luck and best wishes for your future and for your family.

My only regret is, that due to these unique times, we won’t be able to applaud him from the pitch.

All the best for the future sir Mal, but surely his best goal was his strike for Grimsby, bloody unstoppable :D

Honestly, this is probably the worst I've felt about a player leaving since Greenacre left us and I was 14 then.

Malvind Singh Benning, an undisputed Mansfield Town legend. Over 250 appearances, THAT goal versus the enemy, countless screamers over the years (not as many recently). I have no doubt he still has the ability to be one of the best full backs in this division and I'm gutted the gaffer hasn't seen enough to keep him on. The crowd noise for his goal against Newport was something I haven't heard very often at the mill, a mixture of celebration and awe, what a noise.

Thanks Mal.

Thanks Mal.

This last two seasons wasn't your cohort. Great servant but in honesty he probably stayed too long. Began to go stale for him.
You've got to go there and come back, to know where you've been.

A regrettable decision, but I suspect that it was on the cards when Nigel took over. He's arguably the best of the established players and the easiest to move on.
I can see quite a few more announcements coming up.

It'd be interesting to know if any Stags player in history has had as many!

Or had that many managers
Murray
Evans
Flitcroft
Dempster
Coughlan
Clough

Sad to see him leave however this is the right time.

Previous managers have talked about scars and hangovers from previous seasons. Mal had had the lot here.

Now is the time for him to reignite his career elsewhere.

will get a clap from me if he ever returns to play us.

A great servant of the club, sad to see him leave. So did he decide it was time to go or did Nigel tell him his time was up?

On what are you basing that he’s off to Lincoln Yorky? Do you have some inside info?

Would shock me if true.

bloke at works brother works at the Gimps, they have been tracking him all season, nearly went in January, it’s not nailed on as far as i know however if they don’t go up i would suggest it’s very strong option

Interesting, thanks for that. Would be surprising to me, don’t think he’s top end L1 based on the last couple of seasons.

Genuinely gutted he’s leaving but it probably is the right time, one of my all time favourite players in 30 years watching the Stags, hope he goes on to have a great career after leaving us. I’m pretty sure he’ll always be treated with a warm welcome should he ever come back to play against us.

Fantastic servant and, as many others have said, my favourite player in recent years.

I think it's also worth saying that I know that he was a big factor in at least one young Asian lad becoming a die-hard Stags fan.

I don't think 'club legend' is too much of an exaggeration Thanks for everything, Sir Mal!

I think Mal was on a pretty penny, it may be a case of both sides unable to agree terms?

Good luck, you deserve success Mal.

A proper legend, shame we cannot be there for his last game. A surprising amount of memorable moments for a left back!

I don’t think it’s too far fetched to say that his last game for us could be against his future employers.
