I can't say I'm surprised, but it does hurt a little that we couldn't get that promotion to L1 in the many years he's been here.

Will always be a stags legend for the goal against the cheats.

On a plus side, at least we won't be reminded he scored a few worldies by Dean everytime he's on the ball

Brilliant player who for one season could score nothing but screamers.

Real shame that we couldn't get promotion with him in the side and an even bigger shame that us fans can't give him a proper send off.

On a side note, who does that now make our longest-serving current player?

Great to see the Chesterfield clip - there was some spirit in that side
And I think Mal had some of his best moments playing alongside CJ

The way players change clubs these days after a season or two, Mal must have had absolutely dozens of teammates here over the years.
It'd be interesting to know if any Stags player in history has had as many!

Typical of t'Chad to do a shoddy write up and not give Sir Mal the proper picture of his finest moment in Amber and Blue. Always will be remembered for that glorious, glorious moment.

Right call but he’s been an absolutely great servant for the club.

Scored some great goals and of course the one at Direshites stands out.

The goal away at Dagenham was a storter

Mal has been a great servant to MTFC and has always given his all.

Pastures new will help rekindle Mal's form of previous seasons.

I wish him wrll and hopefully a move closer to home?

On what are you basing that he’s off to Lincoln Yorky? Do you have some inside info?

Would shock me if true.

That's my favourite, probably because of the perfect view we had of it in the away end.

Good luck Mal, you've been a superb player for us and I'm sure you'll get a great ovation if you come back with another club.

Sad to see Mal go. Possibly the best left back we have had in my time supporting the club. He scored some sensational and important goals and always gave everything to to causes and featured is some good wins against our local rivals.

I agree that it’s time to move on though. Hopefully a move will reinvigorate him after he has struggled for consistency since working under a couple of poor managers.

Best of luck in the future Mal.

He's been my favourite player so far this century. A great servant to the club & one of a select band I'd always stand and applaud onto the pitch whatever the shirt he's wearing.

That Newport goal was one of the best I've ever seen at Stags & would have graced any stage.

I really hope he does well wherever he ends up.
