I would imagine he’s not travelled up without knowing if the player was starting or not.

I’ve gone through the starting lineups and picked out all players who’ve played in England before, although obviously it could be someone who hasn’t :

Liam Kelly GK
Stephen O’Donnell RB
Nathan McGinley LB/CB
Tyler Magloire CB
Mark O’Hara CM
Chris Long ST
Devante Cole ST

Hakeem Odoffin RB
Brian Easton CB
Aaron Martin CB
Lee Hodson RB

Devante Cole was signed by Wigan in Sharpes time there and loaned out to Burton under Nigel Clough. Done deal on that basis

Sadly not, but he would be a good signing at League 2 level.

He’s only ever played at L1 level in England. 32 league goals in 158apps (88 starts). A goal every 265mins.

Cole would be a free transfer as his contract runs out this summer.

Cole has 4 in last 4 league games.

Motherwell 1-0 up at Ht. O’Hara with the goal. Hughes sent off for Hamilton so hopefully it wasn’t him we were watching! Cole has had a shot tipped over.

He's rubbish unless he scores at least 30 goals a season :D

I read in January that NC was interested in Bruce Anderson.
It was on an Agent site on Twitter (possibly fake)
I think he is playing tonight too though.

Tbh he's signed a few players that haven't played in england before from that league.

Hope he can find another Craig Bryson!

Andy winter of Hamilton who's out injured is a good promising forward. Chris mochrie and Lewis neilson at Dundee all tipped for great things too

It's a big step up from scots prem to league 2, hope Clough knows what he's doing.
Wasn't he in Wales a few weeks ago? He certainly gets about.

Sorry, I thought Dan had stated above that he had seen him, but I must’ve read that on Facebook. Apologies.

Spoke to Scottish football expert and he thinks most likely candidates are :

Hakeem Odoffin - Originally a defender but has been really impressing in midfield. Effective at breaking up play, but has recently signed a contract extension.
Jamie Hamilton - highly rated 19yr centre back. I think probably out of our league as he has been apparently attracting interest from top clubs.
Ross Callachan - goal scoring midfielder, 9 goals this season. Again, I think out of our range.
Bruce Anderson - mobile, hard-working centre forward. Better in a two than on his own. On loan from Aberdeen.

All from Hamilton.

Also mentioned possibly Chris Long at Motherwell.

Thought Cole would probably be above L2, and knew there was interest in him from L1.
